Hi Kseny, what exercises would you recommend for someone experiencing lower back pain? I am learning the eight brocades, do you think this will help, or could some of the exercises aggravate my back? Thank you!
@qigongwithkseny3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kiran, thanks for your comment. The brocades are good, and can easily be adjusted ( effort wise ) to suit your condition. Depending on how bad your back is, I would maybe skip Shake The Head and Wag The Tail. Also in Touch The Sky & Press The Earth use the hands on your legs as you raise up for more support. Qigong Spinal Wave and Tai Chi Cloud hands are good for the back. I hope you get better soon!

I enjoyed this, but I am confused. Every other qigong teacher I have listened to says to breathe in through the nose and out through the nose. You say to breathe out through the mouth. Is it significant in your opinion?
@lynnmichelle54823 жыл бұрын
Hi Doug, when we breathe out through the mouth it helps release tension in the jaw which can accumulate and lead to headaches, also it allows for a greater exhalation of air which in turn is very cleansing for the lungs 😊
@qigongwithkseny3 жыл бұрын
Hi Doug, thanks for asking. You are right, the general rule is to breathe in & out the nose, however there are exercises or breathing techniques that can be done nose/mouth to achieve a certain effect. In this video, I suggest to breath out the mouth to allow a greater exhalation ( yang energy) to be released from the body which is as Lynn Michelle said, helps to cleanse stagnant qi from the lungs and also release stress and tension from the body. I would recommend trying both methods when doing breathing exercises and see how your body feels after. Best wishes,
