I keep telling myself; comparison is the thief of joy. It can be hard when you see all of these van setups and many detailers seem to be doing very well. I had to take a different approach this year because like you said, you can be overworking yourself and not be getting paid enough. That was me last year. Phone ringing just about every day for customers that wanted to pay maintenance package prices but wanted full detail results. I’ve definitely had to change things this year, but enjoying the journey

I been following another detailer on here and he dropped a video that just discouraged me. Saying that you need a setup and fancy tools to look professional. Getting buckets out your car is a bad look…I can’t afford a setup rn I’m doing what I can with what I got. You just keep it real and I’m glad I found this channel

Yeah. They do that sometimes. Most customers offer me the water and electricity. Even though I’m fully equipped , they still offer it.

Gotta love what you do honestly. I'm 110% over working for the prices but I'm earning more than a lot of people for 1 vehicle and putting smiles on people's faces and thats all I could ask for.

AMEN!! I far from successful. I'm just now coming up on 6 months as a total newbie. And I'm a woman, not young anymore. But I'm out here doing it! I just keep trying! I haven't put any expectations out because I'm new. I'm using this first year to learn as much as I can. Whether it from KZbin, Google, or trial and error. It helps that my parents have a car lot which allows me to experiment and gain experience. I work out of my tiny Chevy Cruze. Great video!!

Other reasons you have all these new inexperienced car washers claim they are detailers and charge really cheap and we professionals lose all these customers
@AAProfessionalServices
@AAProfessionalServices Жыл бұрын
I can understand why you feel that way. To be honest I’ve never lost a customer or client to a car washer. Detailers that charge lower prices cater to a certain demographic. Detailers that charge lower prices rarely come in contact with my customers or clients.

Great content man! I really needed to rehear this i was thinking to quit soon too because i started my mobile business in Aug and he comes the slow "winter season" but since im in Houston its just gonna be cold no snow hardly ever. But i'm seeing a drop in business and since i started at the end of the "detailing season". The cushion i have is from my wife's income. But after see this i just need to be more patient. I've been detailing since i was 16 on my own vehicles and for last 10 years ive been detailing my wife's vehicle along with friends and family. I've been running Google ads and have a google my business page and have a website along with 14 reviews all 5 stars. I get 100s of clicks on my ads but just a few actually commit. i'm thinking its from the google ads being "smart campaigns" Do you have any advice? Thank you brother!

Go to your friend’s or your wife’s place of employment and her car for free. This will bring awareness to your services; once this happens you charge their fellow employees.

@@AAProfessionalServices Good morning I do have a contract with her job to do their employees vehicles though at a highly discounted rate because of volume, which I know isn't the smartest. I got the contract by doing her bosses vehicle for free. That way there would be testament of what I can do. I still have google ads running but I lowered the budget from $25 a day average to $12 so that there's still ads just not so aggressive. Maybe more leg work on my part is needed? Like going to other business parks?

I understand the "It's a lot of work" part. I'm not a detailer. Just a guy who takes good care of his own cars. I detail my car and my wife's car in the driveway at my own pace and by the end I'm spent. Yeah, I'm in my 60's but I'm still spunky. I don't know how you guys are doing 4 or 5 cars a day and kicking ass cuz time is money. You all must be dead tired by the end of the day then you still got clean up and prep for the next day. My hat is off to you all.
