Bro you know what's sick? UE &DD & all other delivery platforms should consider making a BLACKLIST or DO NOT DELIVER LIST to anyone who dare tries to scam us!! The only way to skip the photo which happens, is if the client is MEETIN YOU FACE TO FACE OUTSIDE! That way, they get the order/food, & you have no chance of taking the photo to prove yourself unless, if you have GoPro that records everything you do! Lastly, & a new type of scam I fought, is CLIENTS W/WEIRD ARSE NAMES: Ex. DarthVader, The Rock, etc who doesn't provide their REAL NAME! When I get those orders, I immediately cancel 'em cuz if you can't BE MAN ENOUGH TO GIVE ME YOUR REAL NAME to deliver, HOW TF CAN I TRUST SOMEONE LIKE THAT?! He/She will then report me for NOT RECEIVING THE FOOD, LATE DELIVERY, FOOD IS COLD etc Bogus! So I always be alert when weird name shows up!

Advice when taking pictures. Try and get the address in the photo (IF YOU CAN). Even if you have to move back by 10 feet to get the food and address in there. That way there is no dispute.

Even though they say "leave it at the door" sometimes the customer will get the food from you so you don't have time to take a pic. I ususally leave a note saying that I "handed to customer"

I had an order that said 'deliver to customer' so I knocked on the door and the customer snatched the food out of my hands and said, I put Leave at door!. I tried to show her that it says deliver to customer and she slammed the door in my face. So, I gave the customer a thumbs down and click on 'rude customer'. I don't know if that actually does anything, but I didn't get a thumbs down. Another scam I get is somebody stealing people's names, so when you drop it off they give you a thumbs down and a complaint. So I have to read the name of the street I'm delivering to instead of the names to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Small tip about closed restaurants, Uber has a "reason for cancellation" system where you choose why you are canceling the delivery/ride. For Uber eats orders there is a "restaurant is closed" option you should use to simplify that process. So no need to call Uber support. I remember 2 times so far that I've had to do this. A way back burger that told me they stop taking Uber orders after 8:30 (they don't stop it from their app, they just decided on this themselves even through they don't close for another hour) and a chipotle that closed early because they ran out of food that day. Still got paid for driving to the restaurants, but didn't have to call Uber for it.

If you decide to select the "restaurant is closed" option in the APP, you will not be compensated for the trip. This happened to me twice. The third time, I called to report that the restaurant was closed while still at the restaurant. The agent placed me on hold to verify this by calling the restaurant. I was compensated $3 since no one answered the phone. The agent told me this is the only way to be compensated. Some drivers will report a restaurant being closed to abuse the system. Hence you are not automatically compensated if you report it via the APP.

Often times you get deliveries to a no signal zone/dead zone & that’s the reason why the driver cannot take pictures! I always let Uber know this right after delivery and into where I on signal range.

Also you cannot end the trip in these zones at times. I got an email from Uber saying I wasn’t ending the trips right after the delivery. The reason why is no network connection no because I forget to end the trip. Again not the driver’s fault.

Take the picture with your regular phone camera and call Uber during the delivery and send it to them.

I had that happen a few times last week- and some restaurants didn’t even get the order. One was at Zaxby’s. The other is I’m guilty of canceling if the drive thru is full and the restaurant locks their doors and won’t let me go in the store to let me pick it up! Thanks for the news!

Regarding calling Uber Support about being sent to a closed restaurant, I learned that reaching out to them too many times in one week results in Uber eats issuing treats of disciplinary action for "abusing the system." After I reached out to Uber support 3xs in one week to report closed restaurants, they told me I was abusing the system and they threatened to deactivate me if I continued to call them. So to avoid this problem in the future, I decided to not accept certain orders after midnight for restaurants I know that might be closed when I arrive, and doing this has helped me to not stress out over lost money or trying to get Uber to pay me $3.00. F that ish!!!!

As for the closed restaurant issue. I always call the restaurant after accepting a request if I’m not sure it’s open. and/or look up the restaurant on google maps of they don’t answer

The picture issue, I do it in NYC and high rises half the time, especially if they don't have a window in the hallway to go to, has little to no signal. Either you can take the pic and not submit it until you go outside or what I usually do is skip and type the location and also note that thee photo didn't go through due to lack of a signal.

always take a pic of the house number with the food in the pic or even just the mailbox showing the address. Always leave a note such as "at front door" or "thanks for coming out to meet me to get your food."

Be careful on the third option. I was be driving late night, get anywhere from 1 - 3 restaurants closed. I would call UberEats support, and they would cancel the order and got paid $3. One day I got a message from UberEats notifying me that my account has been deactivated from UberEats. They wouldn't give me the exact reason why I've been deactivated other than they said I didn't complete all the deliveries. I asked him if it was about to closed restaurants, and they just said I wasn't completing all deliveries. Keep in mind I had more than 4,100 deliveries at 97% rating. I was notified that I could still drive for Uber, but not for UberEats anymore. Keep in mind, the uncertainty of this pandemic issue that we're having. Restaurants are not reporting their hours to UberEats. I argued this issue many times before that they should require the restaurant to verify their operating hours during this pandemic. Required to them to update their hours weekly at this time. So I'd be careful about closed stores, as they say this doesn't affect you if you contact UberEats support, but it does matter. They refused to reactivate me because of this situation.

I always always take a photo is it's a leave at door delivery. If I hand it to the customer, in the notes I'll say.. I handed the order to- customers name.. do everything you can to protect yourself.

@Bob Sides...This happened to me once. I text the customer to let him know the restaurant was closed and took a screenshot of the text chat. I also took a picture of the restaurant capturing the empty parking lot and lights out on the property and submitted it to Uber after speaking to an agent the next day. I was compensated $3 for my time.

Anyone been having issues with miles?? Lately, I’ve been getting orders that reflect expected payment and total miles for pickup & delivery. Once accepted, pickup and drop off miles changes... sometimes double the original one!! For example, I accepted an order last night $13.58 driving 10 miles total. After driving 3 miles to pickup, delivery destination changed to 20 miles!! This morning a 5 miles/$6 payment changed to 11 miles! I’ve called Uber support to report this issue and was told they’re not seeing on their end what I’m talking about. I have screenshots to prove this. Just curious if this is happening to anyone else??

Omfg!!!! This happened to me last night twice. $9.25 for 4.5 miles. It took 4.2 miles to get to the restaurant so I should’ve only had .3 miles left to get to the customer’s address after pick up. After pick up it said that I had 4.3 miles to get to the customer. I couldn’t believe it!!!! That would’ve been a total of 8.8 miles total for a crappy $9.25. I called and Uber was clueless as to what was going on. I was still paid for the travel though but wtf! Someone told me that Uber tricks drivers like this when no one wants to accept the “no tip” delivery…the nerve!

Tonight I got screwed again by Uber, by driving to pick up an order, well they told me another driver picked up my order!! I went to my car, called Uber support and they said bc I canceled since someone else got the order, I do not get compensation. Now, I e had it! No more Uber eats. After being screwed by Uber, they can screw themselves. I was so upset. How can two drivers pick up the same order? This is a scam!!!! I talked to the supervisor to no help. I’m writing the CEO!!

This happens when 1st driver picks up the food and doesn't start delivery and cancels it to steal the food...so when 1st driver cancels it goes to the nearest driver as if it wasn't picked up...that's why some restaurants tell u to start delivery before handing u the food to avoid these problems

is it mandatory for Uber drivers to carry an insulated bag inside the restaurant while collecting order?? some restaurants are refusing to handover food because I am not carrying an insulated bag with me during pickup. If it says take a picture and the customer comes out to get the food. Do I take a picture of the customer getting their food? That's the same as Meet at door, because you can't take a picture and theirs no proof you gave the food to customer. Please give your thoughts on this. I'm getting emails from Uber saying I picked up the food and didn't deliver it, when I know I did.

Take the pic of something that matches the address on the order such as the house number or mailbox.. always leave a note of where you put the food. If they come out, take a pic of the house number and in the notes thank them for coming out to get their food. A few seconds of doing this saves on the irritation later.

So the other night I got an order and pay from a restaurant and the plus card got declined. I tried to get uber support on the phone for 30 minutes to no avail until the resturaunt closed. I contacted the customer and apologized and told her to cancel her order. The thing is is that order stayed on my app effectively ending my night. I eventually went home and tried to get uber support on the phone for another 45 minutes again to no avail. So I have two questions: Should I have used my own debit card for the order? I am wary of using my own money for work. Also is uber support this useless all the time?

It’s because they can track us in the app while we driving around picking orders. It does piss me off because when we go to deliver those orders We have a lot of explanation to do such as oh I went to pick up second order and since app doesn’t allow us to start delivering orders before all orders are picked up so that’s why I was driving here and there everywhere but to your address after picking up your order…. Atleast what ubereats can do is don’t let costumer track us until the time both orders in case of stack order, are picked up ….

In my 2400+ delivery experience I’ve only had 2 people claim that the food was tampered with and another customer put in the wrong address and didn’t tell me. I was contacted shortly after that delivery and was put under investigation until they determined that the customer never contacted me for the address change. Funny story the customer left the tip but their down vote remained.

Yesterday on my 2nd delivery ever I was sent to an apartment complex to drop off some McDonald’s. When I got there I texted the customer telling him I was at his building, and he said it was a house not an apartment. Soon after he sends me an address 15 minutes away, but didn’t change it in the app. When I told him I couldn’t deliver to a different address than the one given to me, he changed it shortly after and I left to go drop it off there. After getting through his gate and pulling up to his house he cancels the order in the app the second I put my car in park. I still got paid $10 so it wasn’t too bad of an experience

In some cases customers did the opposite. For example, you see the customer come out waiting to take the order even a leave at door delivery instruction; and sometimes a meet at door delivery request but customers just won't answer the door which end up to a leave at door delivery. As for skipping pictures, same reasons as many other comments below, no signal zone. I just encounter a new scam last night, and this morning received an e-mail from uber said that a customer report he did not receive his order. The story goes like this, after I received this delivery, I noticed it was a 2 orders delivery from the same restaurant; however, the orders are under the same customer names which happens occasionally. These 2 orders are big orders, multiple quantities of dishes, and the restaurant is always busy during peak times, usually there are people lines up to pick up orders and they don't really actually check your phone, all you have to do is say uber eat and name and just flash you phone to make believe. So after I arrived the restaurants and showed my phone and told them about the double orders but under same name, the restaurants told me that the orders just pick up by the customer..............., so I have to canceled the order and call support to file a report.

In this case, it’s because your the second driver to accept the order. The first driver accepted the order, collected the food, and then canceled the trip. They get away with this because they cancel before starting the delivery so it gets passed on to another driver. It happens a lot in my area.

@@tntmoz You can do either or. But for me, I like to call and have the order canceled by the agent because they’ll flag you for canceling too much. This also allows them to pay you for the inconvenience right away. This is a very common problem, getting to the restaurant and the food has already been picked up by another driver. Usually it’s a dishonest driver who’s stealing the food. They accept the trip then pick up the food and cancel before starting the delivery. This gig work can be a pain but hang in there!

The wrong address issue, which happened to me recently, was a pain because a customer tells me she puts the wrong address while I have a second pick up across the street and I told her I have to call uber because it's possibly out of my range and my second pick up is across the street from the original address. I called uber and told them what happened and after about 10/15 minutes, I told uber I refused because my second order is close by. Customers don't pay attention.

I got an email saying I’m being investigated for Fraud. I have no clue how that could even be possible. The only time I don’t take pics is if I hand the order to then directly. I’m extremely confused and I think they’re setting themselves up for legal retribution by accusing people of Fraud. That’s a specific term where certain criteria must be met.

This is my first time doing Uber eats, I just opted in today and still waiting for it to go through. Worked as regular Uber driver back in 2018. Regarding the first situation, how will you tell Uber that you decide not to deliver to the out of range address, and make sure that they'll cancel the order and really pay you for the distance driven to wrong address. Not again... So the new thing where I live is some customers (or restaurant employees) telling lies to Uber saying drivers are arguing with them, and making them feel uncomfortable. Another one they're saying is the driver was not wearing a mask. Something of concern in my area.

What's the best way to communicate with Uber Support when delivering out late and you have a delivery issue at that moment because your between a rock and a hard place? I will try to make a long story short: The issue I experienced was getting to the pickup point, while waiting for the order inside the restaurant and looked on my phone to start delivery, the order "vanished" and it was showing the new order that I accepted while I was in route to pickup that order 🤔. So I told the restaurant that I can't make the delivery, because I don't have an address. I left to do my other pickup and then Start delivery. After being in route to my new drop-off, the navigation took me to the drop-off for the order that vanished from my screen 😡🤣. I had a line of communication with both customers, but I went back to get the first order and deliver to the customer and then my 2nd drop off. It all paid off, because I made $26 in tips just from the 2 deliveries. 🤑🤑🤑, but I was so donnneee I didn't call Support the next day.

What do any of you all do if they grab the food before you take a picture? I feel like it’s rude to say I’m sorry let me take a picture of this exchange or of the food infront of your house.

I've been an Uber Eats driver for 1 month and I enjoy delivering. Uber offers a lot of ways you can make money. One example: I go to my Earnings page and under the Healthcare Stipend you can earn a certain amount of money and on the page it'll show you the amount of active hours that the Uber driver have earned and the amount you need to complete. However, I have noticed that my number gets higher each day I deliver based on my active hours of work, BUT the number would DROP the following day and sometimes while I'm own still delivering. I am sure there is some kind of technical issues that's happening and I have screenshots to support my complaint, but I cannot locate where in the app I can send an attachment with my complain. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue and where on the complaint page can you send an attachment?

Great tips! I've had all 3 happen to me. The issue w/pic: sometimes the customer requests the food to be left at the door, but then he/she meets me at the door. My only choice then would be to skip the pic, no? Also, sometimes the app bypasses the pic, ie.: it times-out due to poor ph reception; sometimes it bypasses the completion steps because I already accepted the next delivery. The app is a work in progress. It used to be much worse.

Well I pray that you didn’t fall victim of photo scam going around… I used to do the same I mean skipping photo incase of meeting Costumers outside and it only took one case for me to lose my access to the platform because some shifty costumer used it to get free food

I wouldn’t... 1st that tablet will need to be Mobile Ready with phone access or constantly tethered to some sort of hotspot. Also they don’t make very many mounts for tablets in cars so if you get seen driving and using that thing at the same time you can get a ticket pretty easily. But if you do get a tablet, make sure you get a reflective vest and some orange strobe lights for your car while you’re at it. I promise NO ONE will look more legit LOL

When you're on a delivery, there should be 3 lines at the bottom right or top right of the screen. Click on them and there should be a contact Uber support option.

Store closed inn Indy pays half if you contact support and take picture of the store showing your there. I’ve gotten like 5 of these back to back and had to except them or my acceptance percentage would go down. But $10 delivery turns into $5 picture taking. You should of talk about the scam when you show up and another driver took your food and not to deliver neither

No. Unfortunately (though sometimes it pays off) Uber allows the customer to change their tip amount up to an hour after delivery. The estimate may include, say, a $10 up front tip, then after you deliver the food, the customer may change the tip to, say, $2.00. You will then receive $8 less than the original estimate. Though this may pay off if a customer chooses to tip *more* than they originally submitted, it can also be a pain in the ass when customers want to bait drivers with inflated tip amounts just to get them to accept deliveries that normally wouldn’t pay enough (like a $2.48 payment for a 5 mile trip)

On one of my early Uber Eats deliveries, the customer had the wrong address and couldn't fix it after I already picked up the order. So she sent me the correct address and she even tipped me some extra in cash.

I experienced the same numerous times and left the area, but the repopulated the same delivery and asked for a picture again, so I would take a photo of a house that I see, because I'm now far away from the drop-off. After watching the Uber scammers video I will make sure I call to report the issue.

I had one where 2 15 year were waiting for the food I pulled up and they text me to walk forward Which I thought was weird and two kids came up behind me and I gave them the food and they went through the alley the next day I got reported things I took the food

What do you do when they say to leave it at the door and take a photo...but they end up coming out to meet you? I usually deliver at night so I take a pic of nothing that’s just blacked out. Should I handle it a different way?

Good question! You could let the customer know that Uber requires you to take a photo and ask them to hold still why you take a photo of the food in their hands. For night photos, your phone my have a flash option that you could use.

Also if you get to a pick up and they tell you the food was already pickup up call Uber they will give you compensation for driving out there to pick it up. If you just cancel and leave they won’t

I always take a pic unless the cust. Opens the door when they see me walking up which happens almost always despite telling me to drop off at front door. That's when I'll skip the pic n just click delivered. I worry I'll get blamed for items missed in order. I don't open bags but cust. Always calls me when an item is missing n I'm scared they'll think I ate it or that Uber wd think that ( something I'd never do..that's just F K D up)

If the customer messages me before I set off on my journey and it’s around the same yes I will do it no problem , but if it’s when I get to the address then I’m not going to be in a good mood I don’t care If the mistake of the address was done on purpose or not! Makes no difference to me, If I have to travel more then quarter of a mile extra of the original Address unless it’s my last trip of the shift and it’s on my way home then yes I will make an exception, But other than that then it’s a NO, no, I will swipe it as delivered and take some screenshots and just dispose of the food,

It’s funny when you have a delivery you’re on and they offer you an additional pickup for +1.50 are they out of their minds? Why would I do that and let Uber pocket the rest. Or now they give about $5 for 1 Walmart delivery and then try to put 7-9 on you for $20 I guess Uber is pocketing that extra $ too
