And when the car gets stuck in traffic, it charges passengers for traffic and gets all the money, but only about 0.45 cents to the driver. And when it arrives, it takes 5 minutes, which also charges passengers a lot of money and gives drivers 0.07 cents. Lyft and Uber need a thorough investigation

They just hit me a couple of hours ago, but I think they were waiting for ubers weekly payout in just a few hours. I hope I caught it in time. Looks like my money is still in my account for now. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I think they work for uber and it's an inside job! Not only was uber help utterly useless, but actually listening to them, I wouldn't have restored my personal information and at the 4am payout, my money would have gone to their account! Hope I got it corrected in time

In my case today, they never asked for any of my information... the scam is tricking you to change your payment information to their account as if you will be getting a direct deposit bonus or some other payment. My scammer was very knowledgeable and somehow knew how to access the photo verification used by uber! How? Very sneaky indeed. Uber help was useless and actually told me to do nothing that all was OK! Absolutely BS! If I had done nothing, my whole weeks earnings would have gone to them in 3 more hours when uber paid out! Uber is involved somehow! It's an inside job

This scam has been going on for years with gig workers. Several forums have documented and warned people about it. I personally don't pickup a call unless I 1st made contact. Remember these people can spoof a number make look like its legit.

I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. Just block them. These gullible people who fall for this only enable these scam artists to keep going. The smart thing to have done would have been t go home and log on to your account from an up to date computer, and check for any issues that way.

It’s less about being trusting and more about getting caught during a moment of vulnerability. I mean, he’s an Uber employee, and he’s answering a call from people claiming to be Uber support, who lured him into a sense of urgency when they mentioned a complaint was filed against him. This social engineering manipulation technique played a role in him getting scammed, not necessarily being trustworthy.

They've been doing this for years. Almost got me with the "free giftcard with $50 on it", but I had to enter it into my account to get the money. I was like, "Do I have to remove the card I have on there now?", and they were like, "...yes. This replaces that card." WRONG ANSWER! That's when I said, "...so you have the actual card that replaces mine?", and they hung up. He realized he messed up in his response. And they will request a ride that says UBER SUPPORT or UBER. That's what had me looking at the phone like, "...a ride request from Uber?", but that was just so they could start messaging you, telling them to call them back on your line. They then say you have to log out of the app in order to access the account info, which is correct. I'm sure whomever figured the scam out used to work for Uber as a driver or as an employee of the app. You don't just know this stuff unless you're experienced with how they set it up.

Now I wake up when I want and make $1,000 in two days versus making it by playing musical chairs in meetings all week long. Jobs are cool. People pay us to take them to work. Some days, I'm making $80/hr helping people get to their $20/hr jobs. Just how things worked out for me.

u worked for uber for 5yrs and fell for that? that's a old scam. uber will not contact you like that. they call you on the app, then start ur ride and drive around the block tell they cancel the ride while you keep them on the phone. they have to pay that and you make money. if somehow they called you direct just tell them you will be happy to corporate just call back on the app.

You should answer in heavy little bit of fun. Whenever I get a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent and they are obviously a scammer, I rip into their religion and race to royally humiliate them. I even posed as a trafficker and scared the one scammer because they thought their wife and two daughters were about to be abducted and that they couldn't get home in time. I even listed what weapons I was using during the abduction and some other graphic details. That scammer got extremely scared and started crying on the phone. God I love the sweet and salty taste of scammer tears especially if the scammer is in fear of their family's safety.

I almost fall for it, they told me they will give me a $70 gift card but the gift card say Visa. I was like is this Uber and he said hurry or I am going to hang up the phone, from this time I knew this was a scam, because I know Uber support will talk to you that way, they trained professionally. Then I told them I can’t put their gift card in my account, he hang up on me. Right away I called Uber support, I told the whole story and she said you have a good presence of mind, she told me good job. Many people fell for it, but you did a great job, Uber will not call or text. I saved my money today, Thank you, God.
