I'm trying to get Caddx to make the naked vista and naked standard DJI camera default. The resulting Vista + cam would be something like 15g total then....they're quite resistant as usual but I'm still hopeful. The naked dji cam is just 6g which is about the same as the nebula but the nebula kinda defeats the point of the dji system a bit.

I’ve been running a naked vista for a couple months now with 0 issues. Only thing I do different is have a fan on it if doing anything on the bench and plug the quad in and don’t let it sit on the ground long before takeoff. Having said that, it acts the same way as the normal vista and if it gets too hot it just shuts off, give a minute to cool down and it’s ready to rock.

Excellent little quad, NJ and Bludz have designed a great frame which I'd highly recommend especially if you live in the UK and can't easily get an original toothpick from fpvcycle. My build is based on 1207 6000kv motors and 65mm tri-blade props which you can mount closer to the frame with more motor protection, and on 520mah 3s gnb lipos it rips......... 😁👍👍👍

I fly a HX115 with a Caddx Vista, 1404 Betafpv, Gemfan Windancer and 4S 850. This is my absolute favorite. I fly it more often than my 5" or 6" quads because it does everything I want from it. You finally built one! I did this a few weeks back and was amazed, like the 30% hover on other quads is now wayyy too much throttle. Lightweight is the future, I feel like aio boards will take over in the next year as we see more and more affordable aio. Why pay $40 for an esc AND $50 for a fc, give or take, when a 30a aio is $35 or a 40a aio is $60, and with a lightweight frame everything can be smaller and lighter. Less potential damage to other people’s property in a crash, less cost for all part involved, and a quicker response in the quad to boot. Only downside is maybe carrying a big heavy GoPro rather than a naked GoPro.

You say “how small is it” but really it’s the weight that matters so much. Lighter motors, lighter frame (I used the baby tooth one piece frame) , aio board and a deceased vista (doing both video and transmitter) saves so much weight that you can use a lower pitch prop and a smaller lighter battery and not sacrifice flight times or performance. I’m building the ultralights 5” now and wondering why I ever bothered with big heavy multi stack quads for just simple fun backyard and park flying.

The caddx vista you ran is 32.5 grams with the dji camera. Drop to a nebula camera and save 5 grams. Decase and save another 11.3 grams or so, which is getting close to the weight of an analogue video transmitter plus radio transmitter, which you save with the vista and dji controller. The lighter you go, means no motor screws are required which saves even a more grams, and as Colin Chapman famously said, to go faster, add lightness.

I love to have a few of those canopies. For months now I been building what you can say toothpick style quads. This board your reviewing here JHMU 411f4 is the board I ended up using after killing 3 V3 Betafpv 20amp boards. I have built the 3 inch Xnight frame 4 inch Xnight frame and now the 5 inch Xnight build. And the performance of the quad comes down to motors, and canopy height, & weight when using the Vista. Of course you can save a few grams by using the Nebula camera. But I have already built a 4 inch Xnight with the Nebula camera and the sacrifice you make using the Nebula camera VS Vista is not worth the weight savings. I haven't been bold enough to de~case one of my Vista's air unit yet. But I'm on a verge of trying it. Still yet the 4 inch Xnight build with the Betafpv 1505/ 3600kv motors & Vista is acceptable. Same for the three inch..The 5 inch Xnight build is running 1805/2550kv motors which are more efficient with 6 to 8 minutes of flight time on 850mah 4s GnB packs. I just need a better canopy and I would be satisfied with the builds. Looks like I'm going to have to buy a 3d printer..lol...Nice little build here. What flight times are you getting?

I've found out issues with motor sizes that are flat and wide first hand. Actually bumped up against the issues in the real world. Super intesting but also super annoying. Two manufacturers couldn't get 2803 or 2804 to work out sadly.
@changeagent2284 жыл бұрын
@@Kabab Yes what was the lowest kv they tried? I bet if you lowered the kv till they worked you would find they settle really low. Perhaps even as low as 500 or 600kv. Agreed no way higher kv would work out as instantaneous torque would be an issue and cause desyncs. But like a really low ratio gear set low kv would resolve this at the cost of revolutions per minute. Anyhow this configuration is only useful as niche super light long range motor capable of driving a big prop at snail speeds for endurance flights.
@Kabab4 жыл бұрын
@@changeagent228 about the best reliability I found was 1800kv on 4s. 2308 is less overall torque than 2306. Moving up to 2804 only gave it the ability to go up another 125-175kv while the weight of the motor was now definitely higher than any 2306.5. unfortunately it's just not gonna work out. The magnet velocity is just too high for the torque. That being said, the overall flight performance albeit weak, is genuinely the smoothest feeling throttle response I've ever felt. Even if I could get it to work right below the limit, I wouldn't trust it enough to offer to anyone or even use myself. It's just not worth a random drop out.

lighter, smaller, cheaper parts/batteries, and can be much more quiet which for people with close neighbors or in parks is a big deal. The quietest with any performance left in 3" is a 1s 3" babytooth, but for a little more noise and less flight time, but a lot more zip zap, something like the one in the video with a naked caddx vista or analog setup is great aka a TP3 by kabab. If you have a beef with Bob you could always talk to him instead of this?

I really don't know why anyone has beef with me. It's not like I'm unavailable to talk and I'm always always always open to being proven wrong as I often am. I do however work really hard on various things and take a very practical standpoint. There's always more than one way to skin a cat as it goes...
