The splines get stripped/chewed up/rounded off. That's what happens. It's most likely because it's not a sprung twin, which prevents that from happening. There's plenty of twins you can daily for 30k+.

To further explain in a spring clutch there are literal springs that absorb the torque applied so that there is less shock loading to the splines (Unless I'm wrong, Mech E taking an educated guess)

That is true! But for an unprung twin-disc 30K miles is a lot. Also we are working on a sprung twin-disc soon to be releasing 😎

I have more than that on a McLeod Twin disc Rxt and I sent it in to get checked and to change the hub with a different spline for a tr6060 transmission and they sent it back and said it was still good to go and didnt need any replacement parts

Daily driving a solid hub disc let alone a twin-disc is very harsh on the inputshaft and can strip the splines on the discs as well as damage the inputshaft that is why we only recommend this kit for track use only where you won’t need to do repeated stop and go driving!

Yes that is true but majority of them have sprung discs not solid that help absorb the shock load and ensures a smooth engagement not a harsh on and off engagement. 😎

Hey Camyota the video is referring to the daily driving use of our solid hub twin-disc which we don’t recommend due to it being a solid disc and can prematurely wear out the unit that is why we only recommend it for track use but….. what makes this unit in the video fascinating is that it had 30,000 miles on it which is amazing! 🤩
