The constant air roll thing is something I notice a ton on ranked. In 2's and 3's about 90% of my teammates seem like they have air roll taped down and it causes them to be super slow in the air or completely miss the ball. Luckily (or unluckily) for the first 6-8 months I played RL I didn't realize there was a way to air roll so I never got in that habit. At low GC it's probly at the point where not being very comfortable with air rolling is hurting my gameplay. I gotta find a middle ground between my ranked teammates and what I currently do.
@Jomama72722 жыл бұрын
C1 - The step I managed to learn early is rotating out quickly, something my friends put off, making them hard to play with. I've never had a need to constantly air roll, except for small adjustments for accuracy and recovery, so that stuck with me as well. Still a bit passive.

Although I kinda know about these concepts and understand them, it is always very helpful and informative to watch a video about them, especialy when there are rlcs coaches involved. These videos put all the knowledge together and create a whole which makes sense, is easy to understand and follow and opens your eyes. Great video, Thanovic! Thank you!

Waaaaaay back when I was a wee ole supersonic pup, I think the first content creator I latched onto was Jon. It was entertaining and just a way to unwind watching a game I enjoy. I then started discovering the pros and watching to learn some movements and mechanics that I was training just to get them down and see what micro movements I was doing wrong. Then came musty, sunless, mertzy, all those guys. But after finding out about your channel, I as a rocket boomer have improved on a LOT of mechanics and brain power in-game, and you know what, I’m gonna say it. You sir, are in fact the best RL content creator on the platform. Just an absolute *chef’s kiss* unit of a hybrid between content-content and educational content. I have become simple man. I see Thanovic video, I click Thanovic video.

This is awesome and 100% what I enjoy most about your channel! Insanely valuable information broken down and explained easily with great visuals and all of that coming from a high profile but yet not top tier player who makes mistakes that are relatively easy for us to relate to. Probably a perfect video. I will definitely check out xpere and follow Team Liquid more. I already knew they had a cracked youngster team, but the dedication and willingness to a time consuming project just to get his and his teams name out there makes me think they are somebody more than worth following and supporting. can't wait for the rest of this series! If it stays as informational as it is right now, we are in for a treat and you might get closer to the long awaited 400k and 500k

Awsome video, nice change after quite a few essentially stream highlights videos. So many times I see people air roll around c2 and i think wow that sure looks cool but also way slower then if you just boost straight to the ball and I've been trying to learn to use air roll in situations where it actually makes sense and sticking with normal aerials when just trying to reach the ball as fast as possible and get an accurate hit. So nice to see an rlcs coach confirm that this is the way because theres lots of conflicting information about this out there. Also 👏 to the editor. The editing quality is insane.

@@phant0mm450 hey! a lot of freeplay man, i was lucky that ive been able to queue casual 2's with my buddy whos gc so its helped me to play at a faster pace without any real repercussions to my mmr. but my gc friend has made it apparent that its important to do replay analysis on games you lose, and also less mechanics and more in game iq :) hope that helps a bit bro good luck ranking :)

@TheHeisenbird2 жыл бұрын
@@sebastianR2M a GC told you less mechanics and more game IQ? That's dumb asf, so does that mean you don't work on fast aerials, half flips, air dribbles, flicks, wave dashes, air roll, or any other mechanic? In your rank mechanics are way more important than game sense, you can carry yourself all the way to Grand Champ just off of mechanics alone, game sense comes with time, and if all you do is focus on positioning and never work on actual mechanics then you're going to be stuck in your rank for a long long time.

1) stop air rolling so much ( air roll at last sec if needed) 2) try to keep nose facing the ball defending or attacking 3) rotate out. (Don’t have to get that last touch in) if you know ur teammate has a better touch or shot let them work w it and rotate out.

Is there an exception for tip 2 for shadow defending? Most of the guides I've seen on shadow defending recommend facing away from the ball so that you can match the attacker's speed.
@dialglex2 жыл бұрын
(in 2s) I usually shadow the play when my teammate isn't back (i.e. just got outplayed or getting boost) to stall long enough for my teammate to get back, after which I try to get a touch my teammate can follow up on or if I can't get a good touch I usually rotate out and let my teammate challenge.
@MrPinkDino2 жыл бұрын
As the person above said, shadow defending is a tool used for slowing down the game when teammate doesn't cover you. In an ideal game, your teammate is never out of play so you never need to shadow defend, just instant challenge or attack. Ability to do this very consistently as a team is the main strengh of NRG. You don't see rlcs pros shadow defending. That is why this exception wasn't mentioned
@dyusnariomi48152 жыл бұрын
Also to everyone out there please stop shadow defending when there is someone already back this forces you ball side and you are rotating into your teammate causing them to have to hesitate due to there being a car in between them and the ball
@akaaoniii2 жыл бұрын
Just be at an angle facing to goal post
@locke_ytb2 жыл бұрын
@@dyusnariomi4815 yep. Instead, if you know your teammate is going to clear the ball, stay at the opponent's side for a pass or a redirect. Very beneficial in some diamond and above.

C2 here, and I also have a problem with spinning constantly while aerialing. Going to have to try to not so much. I believe my rotations are pretty solid, and when my teammate also rotates reliably we often win. This makes playing with my diamond friends very very difficult as they refuse to adopt that mentality 😅

I usually play really passive because I'm afraid of being in front and leaving my tmmt, because I have no confidence in them, I know it's a bad habit, but sometimes I get some tmmts that I say, damn how are you even here, and other times I get guys that seem 4 divisions ahead of me, it's weird
