30 degree cold start on 5000 ford diesel

My Ford 5600 is cold blooded too. Anything below about 32 degrees may as well forget it. Sounds like you have some nice upgrades planned for yours. They are great old tractors! Tc Mike

Yeah itll be a all winter project..I beleive..I have a ford 860 powermaster that needs work too..that'll be a project soon too

I have to contribute the fact that we had the most useless 5000 diesel ever. It overheated on starting: while uselessly in shop, we had a substitute that performed. Our 6000 with turbo outperformed this. The Ford 5000 was a good tractor- but but not ours

We did have a 7000.11,500hrs. Great tractor. 8000? 9600? Great tractor- but Ford let us down on the 5000. Minneapolis Moline 670super was superior.
