Ah so many great bands from that late 60's/early 70's period where bands were mixing hard rock, psych and prog. Love this stuff, so many underground gems to discover. The pinnacle for me of this kinda stuff is the 1st Captain Beyond.

SRC: Scott Richard Case - a local Detroit-area band that I experienced a few times in the late 60's. You showed their first album from 1968. Their second album, "Milestones" from later in 1968 has a particularly great song, a medley of "In The Hall of the Mountain King/Bolero" that has almost no vocal, and is just a powerful piece of music.
@freakyfreddiefrawley51794 жыл бұрын
"No Secret Destination", "Eye of the Storm", "Checkmate" and "Up All Night" are also great tracks from Milestones. IMO, Milestones has their best tracks, though, unlike the first LP, there is also some filler. Rock on!

Man I can’t thank you enough for this! I always loved the more acid/heavy psych from that time period, especially the UK stuff. I’m a big fan of psych, prog, fusion, etc a lot of similarities musically. I listened to the Morgen album from 1969 and man does it rock! Some really tasty lead guitar work happening. The T2 record was always one of my favorites, Keith Cross was awesome wish they recorded more material. Keep it up man

Hey man! Just found your page here while in quarantine lol. Nice stuff too, I actually have a promo first press of orang-utan on Bell records from 1971 and man you're right that one has always smoked. Chocolate Piano is a killer off that LP, but the whole thing kicks ass! Anyway, ever heard of Power Plant by Golden Dawn from 1968? They were on the International Artist label out of Houston, TX (same as the 13th floor elevators) and man that album is a psych killer! The fuzz guitar alone on the track My Time is worth the price of admission. Also, try Bubble Puppy's lone album A Gathering of Promises (also on the International label) great stuff too. Ah what hell, here's two more I'd recommend- 2nd of May (May Blitz) and Clear Blue Sky's self titled LP from 1970 (killer fuzz all over that one!!!) Thanks for the uploads, hope you're staying safe!

I agree with you--Psychedelic is a WAY overused term to describe a wide variety of music from jazz fusion to garage punk to proto-metal, and the only thing they all have in common is that they all came out during the same 1966 to 1976 era. I relate what is called "psychedelic" rock more to "art" rock or proto-prog. I'm thinking more along the lines of Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Moody Blues, Genesis, King Crimson--some songs by Cream, Hendrix, Blue Cheer (but certainly not 'all their songs'). Now THATS what I call "psychedelic"!
