Well I must admit I’ve been aggregating losses from all sides to start of this conflict . And your casualty figure losses actually equate very similar to what I’ve come up with . The only difference is the amount of Ukrainian deaths I probably have about 10,000 lower than the Mount of Russian deaths I have about 10 to 20,000 higher . This is purely based on the fact of the Russian lack of battlefield medical aid and rather good medical aid supplied by the Ukrainians

As far as material losses go we have independent assessors and I would say that the Ukrainians overestimate Russian losses by about one third . Whilst the Russians overestimate Ukrainian losses by anything between 80 and 90% As far as casualty figures go about the only solid evidence we have is Russian , DPR/LPR obituaries et cetera at the moment that stands at 62,000 .

I don't think it's that suprising. Just look at the rest of the passanger list. It was the perfect offortunity for an attack. Esencially the entire wagner leadership was on the plane because just killing Prego was probably not a good idea. The rest of the wagner leadership could retaliate if they feared their end. Also wagner gave up all it's heavy equipment since the mutiny. It needed time to prepare for the end of wagner (leadership). Also they were extremly stupid because even normal companies never let all of their important leadership fly on a single plane or take a single train if really an accident happens.

I've been curious for a while now: I understand the "more readily available" argument for the F16, but why hasn't Ukraine tried harder for the SaaB Gripen? If anything the gripen would be a better option for Ukraine. I would think because of it having rough runway abilities coupled with it being a more modern design and cheaper if I'm not mistaken.
@HandleMyBallsYouTube
@HandleMyBallsYouTube 8 ай бұрын
Good question tbh, from what I know Ukraine doesn't really want these fighters just for helping with air defence, they want aircraft that can specifically carry and launch the Storm Shadow and SCALP. The only thing they have right now that can do that is the Su-24, which is a cold war era soviet swing wing bomber. Let me say that again, Soviet era tech with variable wing geometry, you don't need to be an expert in aviation to know that maintaining these things is an absolute nightmare. Ukraine doesn't produce the Su-24, nor do they make any spares from what I understand, and they've been flying missions regularly especially recently, or at least we can assume they have because of how many Storm Shadow / SCALP attacks we've seen. You don't even need to do the math, they're flying a lot so the stress these old airframes are going through is quite something. Sooner or later they can't fly anymore unless Ukraine manages to steal an entire Russian aircraft manufacturing plant, not that I'd count out the possibility of something like that happening at this point. Now I don't know a whole lot about the Gripen, but as a lighter and smaller aircraft than the F-16 I'd assume it can't carry the same payload, which might make carrying the Storm Shadow / SCALP difficult or even impossible. I also don't know if the Gripen is compatible with Storm Shadow out of the box, or if they'd have to get creative with it, I'm not sure how they managed with their Su-24's if I'm going to be totally honest. If the Gripen can carry Storm Shadow then I'm sure the Ukrainians have still done the math and decided that the F-16 is just better for that. Remember, Ukraine now has a very effective Air Defence network, hell the fact that we've seen them convert S-200 for a ground attack role is a good indication that western AA is working well, so the primary reason why they want the F-16 is to add to their long range precision strike capabilities. This might not be necessary if ATACMS was supplied, of course F-16 has been something they've been asking for before Storm Shadow / SCALP were even a thing in Ukraine, so I'm not saying it's the only reason why they want it, but it's definitely up there. Ukraine really relies on it's ability to disrupt Russian logistics, as well as diverting valuable AA assets away from the front to protect high value targets in Russia.
@petriew2018
@petriew2018 8 ай бұрын
low production capability means a limited number of available jets in the first place. Less then 300 have been built total, and the role they're intended for is not one easily replaced by other air frames, making them less 'expendable' than the f-16. The Viper is being largely displaced by the f-35, which is becoming increasingly available in numbers and fills largely the same role, meaning that countries were already planning to phase them out and thus could spare them for a country like Ukraine So logistically the Gripen is just much harder to justify giving away by the nations that operate it. Which you can view cynically, sure, but keep in mind there's a small but very real threat this war explodes into ww3 is someone in Russia has a severe case of the stupids one day, so every country involved does have to consider it's own defense needs as well as those of Ukraine. As with most things in war, it's rarely a question of what you need and mostly a question of what you can have in a timely manner.

Ukraine has been lobbying hard for Gripen, but operating nations have so far refused to sell them. Best guess is that there just aren’t enough to go around. Almost 5,000 F-16s have been built; fewer than 300 Gripens have. Sweden, Norway, Hungary, and other operators just can’t spare them at present. That said, Sweden has recently announced that they will train Ukrainian pilots on Gripens, so I expect Ukraine will get some sooner or later. Most likely, a current operator will start replacing their fleet with new aircraft and donate the old stock to Ukraine. Have any current Gripen operators announced F-35 purchases?

That russian being a georgian jew really tells you shouldn't let foreigners run your show. Anyway casualties are probably 460.000 by now because they are starting to draft woman it means tney're running out of men. Also they are trying to force EU to extradite ukranian refugees for forced conscription. It means they have no manpower In the end when all of tnis is over the result will be that western ukranians will be extremely mad at zelensky and NATO. Joining EU or NATO will further estrange the ukranian population they are conservative not liberal or democratic. Most ukranians want a ceasefire but zelensky wants to go to the last ukranian and kill off the whole demographic. The bombed ukranians are in general not mad at the russians they're more pissed off at zelensky more than anything for not signing a ceasefire, every clown knows they cannot defeat russia which is a nuclear power The ukranian people will be enraged further when they found out they have been bought by blackrock and other corporations. They will get more pissed off when EU starts dumping african immigrants into ukraine exposing them to mass immigration and giving kids libtard LTBHQ education in schools. In the end over a long period of time i can see the western ukranians be angry at the west

@@mrshovelbottom7475 Going by the standard rule of 3 soldiers wounded to every 1 dead, Russia may have suffered upwards of between 50 to 75 thousand KIA. That is quite an attrition rate, and if we surmise that Ukraine may have lost a similar amount, perhaps more, perhaps less, then this war may have already claimed upwards of 600 thousand military casualties with over 100 thousand combined dead. Conventional war eats through men and material like nothing else, quite astonishing.

@@mhl56: That remains to be seen. So far, whenever Ukraine got some new and fancy equipment they brought it to very effective use... Be it Anti-Tank missiles which decimated Russian forces in the first weeks. Be it Air Defense Systems, which made the attacks on the power unsustainable. And even still forces the Russians to decide whether to bomb a Kindergarten or a military target. (Of course they choose the Kindergarten 11 times out of 10.) Be it Himars and Panzerhaubitze 2000 and modern Cruise Missiles which wreaked havoc on supply lines. Be it boats, which help to get across the Dnipro around Kherson or even land (however briefly) on Crimea. Be it de-mining equipment, to clear the Surovikin line. And once they have a large enough breakthrough, the Panzers and Tanks will certainly come in handy as well. And even without western aircraft, Ukraine does a surprisingly decent job in keeping Russia from gaining air superiority (let alone air supremacy), so it's entirely reasonable to assume, that (more) modern and more potent aircraft will shift the balance of power in the skies above Ukraine, significantly.
