Because of how well they stuck to the legends and all this is my favorite movie that has anything to do with Ancient Greece and the speeches that Leionidus gives (sorry if i misspelled his name) are some of my favorite parts of it especially the one he gives while his army of 300 men are staring down their stampeding enemies, more than ready todo whatever it takes to give them as much hell as they can.

They died, King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans, but in what they did...they immortalized themselves. They showed the true strength of the human spirit. Never underestimate the will of a single person, for one can take down many...hundreds. I salute Greece, I salute the Spartans - may your memory NEVER die.

I myself know by heart most of the Greco-Roman myths and nearly everything that is accepted worldwide as true about their historical backgrounds and with this wealth of knowledge about them I can honestly say that the way the Spartans acted in the movie was exactly how they were said to act.
