This also seems to be a reaction from Epicurious from negative comments from pro chefs adding a bunch of random things in previous videos. Personally, I like this format better because it showcases what a person with training and years of experience can do with random stuff people will have around the house. Chef Yuji really shined in this episode with his creativity and explaining things in a way that it just sounds like everything he is doing is something you can do yourself. And I will be trying to make this curry. Chef Yuji's reaction to Daniel's well made curry was great too. Hope to see these two paired together more in the future.

They're always set up in the same manner, same channel layout, recommended channel, the same single video with exact same description etc. because laziness. At the beginning they just bought random popular accounts like Pepper, Blexzy, but then that turned out to be too much work so they just got accounts "A", "B", "C", "D" etc. Worst part? KZbin doesn't want to take those accounts down, because there's nothing wrong with stealing comments or self-promotion. Without the geoduck, Daniel's guess of $150 for the remaining ingredients was $30 short. I don't think that's his closest guess ever, but I just thought that was interesting. The price of the alcohols and proteins in these videos can change the final total so much if the home cooks aren't familiar with them. I think they've figured out most of the 'normal' fancy chef ingredients are going to be $5 more than they cost at a regular supermarket.

I'm Japanese, cheap home chef. This video is little complicated. Japanese curry is super simple to cook and yummy. All you need are, S&B middle spicy curry roux $5 potato $1 carrot $0.5 onion $1 pork $4 (Pork is most popular) 1tsp of ginger and garlic and Japanese rice you can find at Walmart asian section. This is the basic. It's better to not add something else, some other ingredients. Don't try to add something until you understand the taste of basic recipe. I wouldn't recommend celery. Using chicken is not basic, buy pork meat. Stir everything, pour in boiling water, simmer for 20 mins, put in roux and mix. That's it! EASY. Once you master the basic recipe, try adding chicken katsu. Use butter when you stir. Simmer ingredients with bay leaf. etc etc.

Well it reminded me of Awashima Hotel curry. Not as over the top as Yuji's attempt at curry. But it's proper hotel curry that will leave a hole in your wallet if it doesn't leave your taste buds asking for more. Costs $25 for a pack. So Yuji's curry would have went for 33 dollars a serving to a whopping $100. But it's serious quality as it has garnishes on the sauce and the sauce is actually seperate so you can dole up as much you like on your rice like a fine gravy
