My biggest question is if you actually need 1 gram of protein per kilo of body weight. Do we really need that much to build muscle properly?

There are different ways to look at this (longevity, satiety, muscle building/preservation, etc.). Also "need" is a hard word. You won't find one ultimate answer. For myself, I have decided after intensive review to consume at least 1.5g per KG bodyweight. My personal recommendation would be to try and stay at/above 1g per KG, which also shoudln't be hard to achieve for you.

@@daniel_sobhani_thisonelife Thanks for your reply, after converting my weight from LB to KG your right it’s not that much of a task. Some circles preach you must have 1 gram per LB which for me would be 155 grams of protein a day! That’s quite a lot. From what I understand such massive protein intake can be hard on the kidneys and digestive system. Perhaps this misinformation was spread to sell more protein supplements. 🤔

Generally when your kidneys are healthy you shouldn't come into trouble, but please don't take this as medical advice. I like to increase protein in my diet as it keeps me satiated and I just eat less unhealthy, processed food (bc typically protein rich foods are "better")@@jasonwebster4969
