If a person was to weld some aluminum over the iac opening next to the throttle bores then the blending could be extended over that area and those sharp edges there would be eliminated. The entire opening couldn't be blocked off, but I'm pretty sure the iac doesn't need that large of an opening for it's airflow. I'm thinking of sending my throttle body to you, but I would want this mod done as it would have to increase the airflow.

It would help and I have considered doing something in that area. I was leaning towards filling with a good epoxy with a 3/8 hole for the iac to breath. It doesn't need much. Welding is doable and I wouldn't think warping would be too big of a problem but it would take a good bit of time to get the aluminium to weld cleanly. Let me know. I'm interested

I " SADLY " still remember the first one I HOGGED out for my Jeep 4.0, EWWWWWWW. Started with a drill & a flap disk then moved on to a Dremel with various heads. Then hand polishing with metal polish & a piece of felt pad, VERY SHINY BUT WHISTLED LIKE HELL, LOL. SO " DAD SAY'S ", IT DON'T MATTER PAST 50MM, OK, GOTCHA DAD,LOL.

Hey, I have a 1995 ram charger with a 5.9 Magnum 360 what else besides headers intake upgraded ignition system can I do without touching the the internals, or taking off the heads and I Don’t really feel like doing a chip. What else is there to do?

That's really about it I would get a decent ported throttle body some headers I put a decent muffler on it that straight through not a flowmaster but not a glasspack I like the borlas or the magnaflows. I would check out the health of your catalytic converter it might need some help 😉. And after tuning this one I get some tuning done if you can get your hands on a hptuners mpvi2 the mpvi three wasn't jtec compatible but I have heard that they are now I can remote to an that puppy.

Hi buds how about update on super charger jeep I got my hands on 1989 thunder bird sc got it all !!! intercooler pipes all the pulleys ' injectors bypass. ..last week from pick and pull may need the plate you make to bolt on top the AC bracket but will it fit the 1998 2.5 Dakota not Shure how to get it to Canada thow. 🤔

It's still doing great. I make them for the XJ and the ZJ I'm sure it's the same as one of them. IV shipped to Canada it's not a big deal. May need to find me on Facebook and send pics of the bracket.

Thank you. I wish I had had a factory non modified to test. When I went to tune it I brought mine expecting it to be stock throttle and got a pleasant surprise.

To be clear mine is the 50mm. IV been pushing that larger isn't necessary in until you are around 365hp at the wheels. Because that's when mine started to care. And then it barely made a difference.

@@thomasbeyer I'm sure out of all the 5.9s I have there's got to be a stock one on one of them.. My 96 dodge Ram 1500 short be ran a best of 14.42. I guess I should be happy with that and it had a stock torque converter. Back in 98. It ran 16.10 at idle first pass. Then stalled up it dropped to 15.85. The put my favorite gears in it and dropped almost 6ths. The bought the mopar performance computer for the 96 ram. Dropped almost another 6ths. But with a mopar over the counter 2300 stall for the 45RE. It would been quicker. My 2000 RT Dakota reg cab those same parts are a whole lot of fun at traffic lights. I've been watching you conversion to the 8spd. Trans.

I just stepped up to a 2003 hemi it makes more hp I have started with long tubes and a Diablo 93 tune . The 93 tune I didn’t feel shit with that but the long tubes and high flow cats helped it still could use a little little more I’m new to this kind of tubing I’m a old school carb guy the i3 tuner is supposed t have data logging so I’ll have to get someone to write a tune for it

holy moly, thats a lot of $ for not a-lot of HP gain. I' m guessing here but $2k or more heads ,$500 for cam,$1k for ported kegger plus goodies,shorty headers $150 plus tune. so $3800-4000? if stock is 195hp and it made 240hp for 45hp gain? so $89 per HP . If your just playing nitrous is looking like a great deal at $8 per hp , or $1200 for bolt on nitrous kit for ram 5.9 mag. great vids!

Converters were also stopped up it made 15 more after I went back with the exhaust done. But that is a terrible cam for power. Low LSA to make noise but it was a low end torque cam and it did make a decent torque number considering. And that kegger is no match for mine or a dual plane it was just volume reducing plates it was not impressive. Good heads with terrible everything else equals no power. Money spent in the wrong place.

@@user-ju3ns2cz1u absolutely. When I went to the dual plane it only made 5hp above 4500 more than my ported kegger. My advice will always be get the dual plane and save the time. I can say I did notice a very small loss in the low end but once I got my 2400 stall you couldn't tell at all.

Hi I'm from Poland ;) I watch your videos which I appreciate very much I have a question about my engine. I have a jeep zj with 5.2 magnum with comp cam 20-744-9, 52mm tb, 12 hole injector from ksuspensionfab. Now what will give me the biggest gain in power rocker arm 1.7 or ported kegger with vrp plates and wedge . Is there anything else I can do from easier cheaper stuff?

Ported kegger vrp and wedge. I would only do that if you cant afford the Hughes or welding bungs in a china dual plane manifold. Besides headers that's about all you can do.

But if you really want some power I would jump right to the 236/242 cam that's in line now. The kegger May hold it back a little on the top but it'll be ready for a really ported kegger or bolt on a dual-plane. I've been thinking about making a jig so I can put bungs in the cheaper China manifolds and the Edelbrock like I did mine.

Don't you have a Holley universal throttle body? If you do you should try that to compare the difference there, just curious how much difference the 4 bbl makes compared to the 2 bbl. My RT Dakota with bolt on intake, 52 TB, homemade cold air, and shorties with a Hughes cheap tune made 232 HP and 325 ft-lbs. The guy said she was running super rich but I've got the block tore down (putting eq heads and a cam in) the old heads are showing she was running lean. Any way I swapped my cold air for the Edelbrock bug eye filter and I mean for just a simple change on the stock motor it felt like I woke it up with a good 10-15 HP. Maybe it's just my butt Dyno but for such a cheap filter and base I think it's definitely worth the price for the gains. Not as torquey off the line but she still jumped and took off.

I believe some of it is the tires size. My ram made 255hp I can't remember the torque. But it was a rering job barely touched kegger shaved block and shaved head to bump up compression and a decent valve job. It was way lean and I had no way to tune it. The utp500 cam in this thing is really designed to make very low end torque too low to be able to test on the inertia Dyno. It's a 220/220 108 lsa so it sounds decent at idle but it's not meant to rev high. Not the cam I would choose but it definitely feels decent out of the hole.

It should have been running lean at least for my experience tuning these things they Are lean out-of-the-box especially if you do any work to them

Right, yea and gearing could make that extra difference. I've got 275x55s on my RT 3.92 rear end. I'm putting Hughes 214/218 and gonna be about .530 lift. Wish I got different heads or just had mine ported and bigger valves but I got PIE's EQ heads with a 4 angle valve job. Trying to keep her good to drive on the street and track. After all it is the RT, expecting 380 hp with what I have now but would like to get it to 400-420. I was commenting on your header video before, gonna figure those out soon but figured tuning wise I should deal with the throttle body first cause I can always just run the tune for shorty headers with long tubes.

I've heard good about flying Ryan but been thinking it's Hughes' cam so maybe I should stick with them. I've wanted to do it myself so I can learn but I don't have a laptop, I do have a obd2 scanner that can make changes but I don't know any programs to run off of a phone. Might get a used laptop
