Also, as an Italian, I would like to point something out. Romanticising *mafia bosses* or anyone who is part of the mafia is absolutely sick. It is a system of murder and torture which still affects our country today and which a Polish author - who obviously doesn't know anything about organised crime - should not write about in this sort of light. Organized crime and criminals in general get romanticized a lot in romance media. It's not great. But too many women are into the fantasy of dangerous men to ever stop it I think. Though tbf it's not like it's only romance media romanticizing criminals, other popular media does it to. Think Breaking Bad, or going further back, The Godfather.

For the people wondering why the mafia premise is such a popular thing for media, it's because of the Forbidden Fruit Effect. It's where something that seems unavailable, dangerous and morally ambiguous becomes desirable to the brain. It's also why incest p0rn, student teacher novels and fanfiction is popular. People know it's morally wrong but that's the kick people want. While I see the iffyness of it due to real life situations (I'm Japanese and we have Yakuza), I can understand the appeal. I like the Yakuza games because they are badass but I would never want to be associated with them in real life. Same thing with the mafia premise, people like the feeling of danger while not being in actual danger. It's just messed up humanity.

I genuinely think that Netflix produce willingly these garbages because they know it will Be talked about way more than any other good movies /TV shows, there will be more ytb videos about it and it will attract attention easily, the irony of it all is that despite being considered as garbage, 365 deni still managed to top the most viewed items in Netflix 😭 , as a result , producers may think that it was well recieved and thus make another one, the most saddening thing in all of this Is that producers doesn't need anymore to produce great movies because they know pretty well that it will Be viewed by a lot of people and thus gain a lot of money , they don't care about quality , that's why they end up making a so called movie, devoid of dialogue, plotless and full of sex scenes, they are taking us as fools, it's frustrating knowing that there is great TV shows that got cancelled :((

The "sexy mafia" trope is so prevalent and so unhealthy and so inaccurate yet so fun at the same time (in other media, not this. I'm thinking of Team Rocket and Giovanni as I write this) that I really think we as a society need to just keep the trope but not use the word mafia (or Yakuza for that matter) so that we can all actually accept that the real mafia is absolutely horrible Like keep the antivillain gangs of criminals who are all a dysfunctional family, love that shit, just don't call them a mafia or associate them with the mafia
@guilhermebranco85725 ай бұрын
agreed, like keep all the gun-wielding bad guys in movies but don't call them "criminals", use the word "villain" so that we can accept as a society that criminals are baaaad

I know people are right when they say that netflix keeps giving bad shows a second chance, but the problem is, certain people actually do want these shows. Sadly.

That's one of the many reasons I love the show "Sons of Anarchy": there's also a love story between the hero (a bad boy and member of a gun dealers gang) and a doctor. But unlike that piece of garbage, the serie doesn't try to romanticize it, quite the opposite! It shows in a very crude way what happens to love stories in the brutal, ruthless world of mafia. The serie says: "Hey girls, if you fall in love with a bad guy, or a good guy doing bad business with bad persons, and you try to "fix" him, well guess what? You'll fix shit, and he, or his friends, will destroy you." This...let's say...movie says: "Hey girls, if you fall in love with a possessive, brutal, heartless, abusive psychopath, who certainly killed many people because, you know, he's in the f*cking mafia, well great! You'll have many things to fix! So do your job, woman, and earn him at his best!"

Why does all bad shows on Netflix get sequels but the good shows are cancelled. Netflix should give all series a 2 season cap and end the stories instead of pretending to renew a series that later gets cancelled on a cliff hanger.

They cancelled fantastic shows like the Dark Crystal for this...like seriously puppets are expensive but if you pool together the money used to make these films then I'm guessing you would be able to fund quality content. Oh that and they laid off their animation team. Quality shows with good plot goes down...whatever this is pops up. One of these days everything will be like a wattpad novel.
