how long did it take your hair to reach armpit length in the front? you say "only about armpit to bra strap" omg. that's my goal. sometimes I analyse what my hair has done in 3 yrs a d I say...yes its gonna get there. other days I can almost not believe that it will. my hair is the longest it has ever been in my life and i am amazed that afro textured hair is so magnificient. i almost wish i could look into a crystal ball to see if my hair can really reach my bra strap girl. what's your routine? i wanna know all. lol Happy New Year sistah!

Darlene Means I think about midway into my second year of being natural. I’m not exactly sure. It’s been six years now. My problem is that it feels like it’s been the same length for at least three years now. As far as a routine... for the most part I just wash once a week and ALWAYS deep condition. I use mostly Shea Moisture products. They’re inexpensive and they work. I also like Oyin Handmade and I order only when they have a sale. Up until I saw this lady, I wore mostly wash and go’s because they’re easy. I used Wetline Xtreme gel and oil and Shea Moisture detangler as my leave in. I pineapple throughout the week and wash on Sunday. That’s pretty much it. Now I’m trying to do what she does. I’m wearing twists and spraying them with Aloe Vera juice and keeping my scalp oiled. I do rinse with rice water now and then because I saw a video that says it’s good for growth. I’m not sure it really does anything. We’ll see.

The answer is mini twist/ twist! For some reason our hair loves to be twisted or braided and left the f@#$ alone. Put some oil in it tuck it in a bun and tie it up at night. You WILL retain all your length. Everyones hair grows the magic is in length retention.

Your hair and spirit are magnificient. What you said about loving your hair is so critical. patience and love go together. Truthfully I had to be patient to find the love. When my hair gets to those in between lengths that happen between each length stage. I have use patience to fall in love again. I talk to my hair. I tell her I love her while I'm treating her and styling her, just like I would a plant. I have even given my afro a name. Her name is Delilah. Even my students say hello to Delilah now when I wear her out big and full. Love is the key to all life and growth. When you love your hair it will respond. I am in awe at what my hair is doing. It's been 3years and 2 months in this journey and I cant wait to see what my love will do for Deliliah as I journey towards year 4. BTW. I started using flax seed gel as my final layer to seal in my LCO (I do a LCOF now) and OMG my hair is the softest it's ever been. I love it. thanks for the tip. You and your mane are amazing.

The more natural you are, the more connected you are to earth and the more you’re able to get direct information from spirit...the more direct information you’re able to get from spirit, the more guidance you’ll be able to get to live a better quality of life with abundance of great things 🌸 The more processed foods and processed products put in and in the body, the more we are disconnected to nature and don’t receive as much direct information from spirit and could potentially miss out on many of life’s blessings and guidance for our purpose 🌸

@@IndigenousStrandz11 as much as I'd like to see you wear your hair out, I imagine your hair would be difficult to manage afterwards. Don't do it just for us; only if you want to. I want you to maintain that length and health. If you do decide to wear your hair out, id like to suggest that prior to doing so, put twists in (without any gel on the ends) and then join many twists to form jumbo tight plaits/braids (to stretch the hair) so you can then oil the hair n take down the braids/twists and seperate the hair without adding water, hence maintaining a 'blown out' style. You may show how you achieve the style on camera if you wish, but also have a friend or family member give you a mini photoshoot outside (in good lighting) and include pictures as a slideshow in the video. And of course print some and put in frames. After wearing your style, find your same separations/sections and twist the hair right back up. Spraying and adding gel on individual sections before twisting if you wish. Please don't attempt to moisturize all that hair at once. Idk why I'm scared for you. Lol. All the best! Love you and your channel. 😊❤️

I'd love the challenge but honestly I've been wearing my hear in twists and/or plaits for about a years now before I even found your challenge, at first I had it in a bunch of mini twists throughour the spring/summer, then I moved on to a bigger size twists because I found myself retwisting so often and thought i was damaging it, now I just have it in 4 large sections and twisted. my hair is so weak and frail at this point that in 4 large sections each individual twists is still only as big as one of your medium/small twists! that's just how thin my hair is at this point. I don't know what has happened to my hair over these past couple of years because it used to be much thicker than that. Maybe I can participate in your challenge on my daughter's hair - it's extremely dry but longish (comes maybe midback when stretched, shoulder length when shrunk). Either way, you're an inspiration and definite envy-worthy for how healthy and beautiful your hair is. I understand your spiritual connection to you hair - I believe this is something that is intrinsic to women's natures and I agree on various spiritual/religious levels.

so beautiful!!! If you don't mind, I have two connected questions. Have you ever experienced a growth plateau? How did you overcome it? I have been stuck at mid back length for over a year now!! and my second question is how can I make your regime work for fine hair? your hair is thicker than mine so I wasn't sure if long term twists would damage my fine strands. I already battle knots and split ends :( I appreciate the help!
@Dootstvee
@Dootstvee 5 жыл бұрын
I did once and i just start cutting lol😳😯 i think it was in my head though lol the thing with thinner hair is that u want to avoid small twist because u may experience more knots and tangles try larger sections of hair or what you can do is wear your hair in a low bun... make twist Within the ponytail once you gather all of your hair in hair tie Maybe 5 twist and take those twists and pin it into a bun. so basically it's like you're wearing a bun but the leave out part is Twisted so it counts as a protective style as well and you can leave your hair like that for a couple of days without having to redo it so often and that would retain a lot of length just keep it moistuized. I hope that made some type of sense lol

I was using camille rose products and shea butter but I recently switched to the aloe vera and castor oil to try it out. both castor and shea work for me, so that's good. I need to know your routine, I want to go on a new hair growth journey, and healthy hair journey. I have a ton of shedding, and it’s making me miserable. I just want to know what’s the best way to deal with that mentally and emotionally and how do I bounce back with a vengeance!!!

Hi! Woohoo! Talk about length. I'm still holding out on my prayer to appreciate and love myself including myself. My main issue is spending too much time on social media, and after a while I start feeling ugly, stupid, hopeless and depressed again. So in 2019 I hope I can have self-control.

The only reason i got an Instagram was to connect more with alll of u and i really dont post. U have to understand that a social media platform like Instagram is made for you to feel that way about yourself because through you feeling that you're worthless that you're ugly is how Brands promote their products through influencers. Almost every picture you see on Instagram people use this thing called facetune which I just found out about because I watched a documentary about it it pretty much Alters any feature on your body you want to so all of these girls on here that's not how they look me personally that's why I don't wear makeup that's why I don't get my eyebrows done because I don't like not feeling like myself 100% and at the end of the day when I look in the mirror I see the same person in the mirror that I've seen throughout the whole day you have to look in the mirror and realize that this is the person you were meant to be and this is the person who you were going to be until the day that you die so you got to get used to it and you have to know that you are beautiful😊 you should light a white candle get a stone called a rose quartz and meditate with the stone in your hand.. And keep it with u😉

Wow thanks for sharing!!!! You have inspired me. Right now I’m TWA( Tinny Winnie Afro) and plan on growing my hair to my waist. I know it will take patience and effort. I also have a 9yo daughter and I’ve been twisting/braiding her hair since birth. My question is how to we keep split ends at bay? What protocol do we follow to heal split ends? Do we always have to cut split ends? I think my daughter’s hair would be longer if I hadn’t cut the split ends off . I really like your ‘shampoo’ routine and will try it out on my daughter and me. Waiting for and excited about the hair growing challenge.

How long did it take for you to grow your hair out to this length? Have you been natural all your life? I struggle with single strand knots. How to I get rid of them? Have you heard of the rice water technique? What’s your take on it? Thank you ☺️

Two-strand-twists were the thing until they came out with curly creams and twist-out creams. Do you ever jazz up your twists with Locs jewelry? If you are creative, you can custom make them to match certain events in your life and share how to's. Most of our two-strand-twists are thinner than locs and hair jewelry to fit are hard to find. Maybe get sponsorship from those that supply the materials or even sell them yourself.. Just making a suggestion so you can possibly make more money. Other natural hair channels are concentrating on products and I hope you never end up changing.

Thats a very good idea!!! I have companies hitting me up for product reviews but I am very weary of what I put in my hair and I don't plan on making my Channel about products because I'm not a product junkie at all however I did get contacted by a woman here on KZbin and it's a black owned business and she has oil and chebe which I don't use that but I did tell her that I would love to support her being a black owned business and I would do a review on maybe an oil but other than that no I don't plan on changing at all and yes I'm very creative I sew I crochet I make jewelry I do all of it lol

Im getting alot of comments like yours so think imma do a video😉 I really just tried to listen to my body and kind of tune into what it needs if I feel like I need to give up meat for a little bit that's what I do if I feel like I need to incorporate more fruit that's what I do is not about a consistent diet asset diet it's more about intuitively eating at the moment that your body needs what it needs and I drink a lot of tea but I think I'm going to do a video maybe like what I eat in a day or what I eat in a week just to give you guys a visual reference to what my diet looks like and thank you for the positive comments and also given me a reason to have another video Idea😘
