I actually enjoy Halloween 2. I did like the PTSD aspect and how it really had an effect on Laurie and her relationships. Very realistic. The deaths are great. Tyler Mane is a good Myers. I like the idea behind the white horse/psyche thing, Rob just sometimes isn’t the best at executing his stories. If somebody co-wrote with him and polished his ideas up some, his films would be a lot better because there’s no denying he has an eye for horror and imagery.

Hey Chris, great videos. You know I’m with you on Nightmare 2010. Even though I still enjoyed it, I could not handle the fact they made Freddy, that way. Especially with such young kids. My niece and nephew are around the same ages, and I get disgusted every time. All that aside, I liked some of the other elements. Anyway, good job. Keep those videos coming.

To me the Halloween reboot(by Rob Zombie) could’ve been amazing if Rob just replaced Michael with a character he made himself. On another note...Seed of Chucky is probably my second favorite in the series. I guess that’s due to the fact that I’ve grown up with Chucky so I’ve always seen him as humorous even though in movies 1-3 he was trying to be scary.

Another great video with excellent points, well done Chris. Love the Freddy costume on you and the one on your little dog, it was so precious, I especially love the adorable little glove. I actually really like the new Nightmare on Elm Street not just because I think Jackie Earle Haley makes a decent Freddy, but also because I just love the new ferocity and power he gives to Freddy that I think is as unforgettable and awesome as Robert Englund's work. To me they both make great Freddy's. And finally I've never seen the 2nd Rob Zombie Halloween film but my sister and I both love the 1st one, we love just about everything about it even the new Dr. Samuel Loomis done by Malcolm McDowell and the fact that they got the wrestler Tyler Mane to play Michael Myers. That's so cool!

Rob Zombies Halloween 2 is my favorite Halloween movie, that’s controversial but it’s for good reason. I was 8 when it came out and I loved the first movie, the brutality that Michael showed was what I wanted in a slasher movie instead of cutaway kills and off screen kills. The nurse kill at the beginning of H2 is my favorite slasher kill of all time with no contest. It’s brutal, her screams as he’s doing it is chilling and Michaels grunts as he puts his power into it is badass. Discarding the jumpsuit for the more “hobo” look is more believable than constantly wearing the same jumpsuit every movie and how Michael only wears the mask when he’s gonna kill someone is also more believable. The changes that Rob made to Laurie and Loomis are pretty realistic depictions of what one could experience with PTSD as Laurie is traumatized and hateful to the world because she saw evil itself and survived it, that was the most traumatic time in her life and she can’t let it go. It consumes her. And loomis is the opposite, his trauma is the center to his greed, he can get rich and famous from it so he took that opportunity and now it’s blowing up in his face. The kills are brutal and the new mask design is great, different than any other mask in the series. I don’t know if this is the real reason for it but I always took the white horse scenes as a result of Michael being shot in the head by Laurie. Then again I don’t know why Laurie would be seeing the same exact things but in my opinion, H2 is my favorite slasher movie. Even more than the 1978 movie, it’s perfect to me and the first ever Halloween movie and mask I bought. I will stand by it until the day I die

Alright so I have some thoughts on all of these. (Sorry this ended up being stupidly long, guys) 2010 Elm Street, while very underwhelming and lackluster, the way they portrayed Krueger (apart from the whole yknow child predator part) was shockingly good. Jackie Earle Haley was a shockingly good choice to fill the role post-Englund. I think that Haley did make Krueger scary again, but also an unfortunately more realistic way of how a child killer would be portrayed. Even though I love the original timeline with Krueger getting revenge for his death, I think that the predatory nature of the character really did add to the scare factor and the creepiness of the character. Seed of Chucky, while absolutely abysmal in comparison to the rest of the Child's Play series, was truthfully not *as* horrific as most people make it out to be. I like the change in tone Seed brought, even if the execution was very poor. Glen is easily the best part of the film in my opinion. Oh and yknow, Chucky nutting. Jason Goes to Hell was just plain rough. It set up something more insane and good with the opening sequence, but then brought us a fucking slug man and a family curse or whatever. Really just doesn't make any sense. Poor concept, poor execution. Plus, giving us a Freddy cameo at the end, only to make us wait a decade for it to actually come to fruition just made the film as a whole rough. Zombie's Halloween 2 was great in concept, but poor in execution. The opening sequence in the hospital is fucking amazing, but the rest of the film was underwhelming. I do appreciate the realism of Laurie's PTSD after yknow watching her friends get brutally murdered. Sure, the whole ghost mama with a white horse telling Michael to kill was just...weird, and Michael the vagabond was confusing, but the film really does try it's best to include a large amount of realism with Laurie's mental state following the events of the first film. I do think that having Loomis try to profit on his time with Michael was certainly an odd addition, but I honestly could see that being a real thing in today's world. I think a large portion of the negativity for both Zombie Halloween films was the success and reception of The Devil's Rejects. He really did make an almost perfect hellbilly horror movie with that one, so it really was hard to follow up with a remake of a damn near perfect classic film. But anyways, that's just my thoughts on those. And I do agree with Cris, the dog costume was better.

I completely agree with the assessment of Jason goes to Hell, the opening and final shot are amazing but everything in between is pure ass. As a lifelong Krueger fan, the remake was a travesty BUT, the introduction of micronaps that blend the waking and dream worlds was a cool idea and the line about the brain still living after the heart stops beating and Freddy having more time to play with his victims was legitimately a horrifying thought. Outside of that though, there is nothing else about this film that I enjoyed. And then there's Seed and Zombiween II; both of which I tried to watch and had trouble actually finishing because they were so bad. Keep up the great work man!

You have a point about how when one grows up on one version of a franchise you don't like a reboot. I grew up with the Micheal Bay transformers and the G1 transformers series/movie. I hate the Bumblebee movie because I thought it was unoriginal by crossing G1x Bayverse. I thought Bayverse designs and idea was original and attempt at something only for it to slip at the last film, I just didn't like how Bumblebee has this trend of slapping Bumblebee onto nearly everything new. Also, when Dropkick, graphically, pops a human or three like a blood and gut filled balloon, I went back to the only other film this happened, that being Dark of the Moon, and found one Decepticon protoform shooting three people and them only turning into Tom Holland Spiderman dust.
