The original Terrifier appealed to me because of the lack of story. I like that this creature had no origin, no real motive, just pure evil moving through the world. I do think adding story arcs was necessary to move from a stand alone film to a franchise. Going back to the first movie. It had no real plot, there was no origin, no rhyme or reason. Just murder and mayhem. And that is exactly what made it stand out to me. Dare I say it is the “Tao of Art” of the series.

No, sorry. It’s very clearly a Heaven vs Hell situation, although heavily Roman Catholic rather than Protestant Christian. The demon possessing Vicky even says “You are strong. That’s why They chose you” meaning God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, or at the very least a group of angels who serve God chose Sienna to fight against Art (whose now a demon and not a man) and the demon (possibly even Lucifer himself) who appeared as the Little Pale Girl in T2 and then possessed Vicky at the end of that film. I get where you’re coming from, but many of us can separate art from reality. I love gore in movies as long as it’s done right, but there are a couple movies that are way too disturbing to watch again. I’ve made about 20 horror short films in the last 15 years, and I view horror films completely differently now as a filmmaker. Filming these kinds of films are completely different than watching them. People are laughing behind the scenes, there’s bloopers, and almost everyone having a great time on set and location. I forget I’m making a horror film sometimes when I’m directing because of how different the experience is than watching it. Editing plays the most important key when it comes to how much gore is used, and how brutal the tone is to the film. When I’m in the editing process for my films that’s when the movie completely changes. Seeing the film come to life is an intense experience, but I’ll always react differently to my films than the average audience viewer. I love horror films, but for the characters, music, cinematography, story, and pacing. The gore is an add on, but it doesn’t make the film better. I get disturbed and nauseated when I watch the news or read an article of what’s going on with the world. That’s real life horror to me, and that’s what’s truly disturbing. What’s happening in our world right now makes a low budget slasher film look like nothing. It’s a movie. It’s fake. As long as people can separate the art from reality then I don’t see the harm of gory horror films, and people liking them. That’s just my opinion though.

It's pretty awesome how your film can look super big budget when you shoot it with a cinema camera and a high quality anamorphic lens like Panavisions. @Brodie0298 Idk. The creator seems to have alot of ideas for the franchise. If he's passionate about this one body of work, I could see this pushing like 5 decent movies like any classic horror icon (except Pinhead. He only has 2 good movies.) As long as the kills are good, I'll be watching, but I would hope the story would be at least as good as Pt. 2. Doesn't have to be any better. Just a small story for the backbone of Arts destruction. But as long as the kills and practical effects are good, these movies would keep me entertained.

There are people out there who enjoy watching real gore films. Those are the real sickos. People need to realize this is fiction at the end of the day, and this is coming from a Christian.

Honestly, I do kind of agree with those criticisms, specifically for Terrifier bc it gets extremely uncomfortable at points with the body horror. (And the lack of story or depth to it, makes it quite jarring)

@@00pium_kingvampstan Some people are claiming these movies to be classics of the decade, and I completely disagree. The best thing about this movie is the practical use for effects, because they are really good. Although the actual film isn't even considered to be scary by most, just "hard to watch." I think the hype surrounding it makes people think in a slightly different narrative than what the movie actually is.

@@00pium_kingvampstan so you’re admitting to being a wussy 🤣 just kidding I get what you’re saying. There was a horror film called Vile that I tried watching on Netflix years ago and stopped half way through because I couldn’t handle watching the crazy stuff happening to people in it lol. Terrifier hasn’t done that to me yet. I wanna try to watch Vile again soon, I think I can get through it this time.

i think what makes the first movie so solid is the fact that there is no story, it’s a movie that if it goes somewhere leads to sooooo many opportunities(which has happened)it shows how he kills and his mannerisms, it popped off and started a great series

This is my most anticipated, horror film of the year and I cannot wait to see it in theater night. One is going to be insane. I really really want to get the art the clown popcorn bucket.

I’m a HUGE movie enthusiast/lover especially horror movies, aspiring business owner and actress. I’ve already watched 38 new movies since the beginning of this year. I just went to a Halloween store and saw Art the Clown merchandise as well. I’m so excited to watch Terrifer 3 it’s one of my most highly anticipated movies of the year along with Dune 2 and Gladiator 2. This was another good movie review. ❤❤❤❤

I do agree bout wanting to know his origins or his powers or whatever but idc bout story like a lot of y’all, the first 1 was so good as it brought back practical effects which make horror great, thats where 2 lacked for me as it was story bout the girl I couldn’t care less about, I watch the movie to see art murder lmao - I been sayin the director is great for the gore and action , he needs to team up with someone who can create a horror atmosphere and a good story , would be a great mix of a movie

I loved the scene when Art says, “It’s terrifying time!” And then proceeded to terrify all over the place.

I think the best thing about this franchise is that it very clearly isn’t trying to be main stream and be for everyone. This is a passion project that built up a fan base that just happens to be big. The problem with wanting this to go mainstream is that they would have to hold back so much more to appeal to the main stream audience that the og fan base suffer because of it. If you watch any interview with Damien Leone you will know that the story you are looking for is coming it’s just slowly unfolding and all the questions will be put to bed by the end of the fifth or possibly sixth movie. I get doing a review on this movie because it’s so popular right now but I whole heartedly disagree with wanting this to be mainstream. Let it be what it is that’s exactly why it’s so popular in the first place. The entire reason they didn’t go with a big studio for the 3rd film is because of all the restrictions they would have had and that’s been on record from Damien in past interviews.

Was suprised to see a cameo performance from Chris Jericho in terrifier 2 looks like its a continuation of the 2nd movie as i did catch a glimpse of him in the care assistant outfit again in these clips 😂😂 What i love the most about Art the clown is they can do so much with building with his story where its very vaguely carved out and they are doing it in such a perfect way, that if this did go heavily mainstream with a huge budget... it could be one of the most terrifying films ever. For those that arent familiar with the all hallows eve films... they never held back on the kids in those films 😂 especially with the kids watching the tape only for the babysitter to find their severed heads laying on their bed 😂😂
