It always tells me that shell is in use already. It tells me to disconnect the device and also to turn off and on the ADB Debugging, but with no success. It's an 64gb USB thumb drive connected to the Fire TV 4k Max 2nd Gen via one of those adapter cables. Any solution to this? Edit: It seems like its because of the latest version of OS8 that my stick came with. I really choose a bad time to try out stuff like this. D: Unless there is a fix, they can have that stuff back. Well done Amazon!

I did get it to work. I wasnt able to install remote adb shell on my fire TV, but I installed an adb app on my android phone. Then started the app, connected to the ip of my firetv stick on port 5555 and entered the adb commands that are listed. Adb did work great and it shows as active, but unfortunaly as soon as i press the home button i am still back to firetv view, not my launcher

It works now. After adding the adb indicies you have to restart you fire tv stick for them to take affect. Important note: when starting from power completly off, the firetv start menu appears for a few seconds, wolf launcher takes some time to autostart, but it autostarts.

I had that issue when I first tried it but just exiting Flaucher and going back , allowed me to select pictures from unsplash

Thank you Troy for another amazing recommendation and video. After setup I added a couple of new apps to experiment with per your advice. They do not show up in flauncher. Also the fluncher screen lags occasionally and reverts back to the logo screen. Im going to uninstall and reinstall but is this a known issue? I can’t seem to find anyone else with this problem. Troy you are my hero. I don’t bother looking anywhere else. You da man!

I'm a big Wolf Launcher fan, but I think another good way to bypass the home screen is to just use the app shortcut by holding the home button.

Awesome demo Troy! I have something strange going on with Launcher Manager. When I click on the icon on the FLauncher home screen, it will not launch, however when I launch it through the downloader installation file, it will open. Any ideas? Thanks again, Ken Mc

No, the pro version for that is only available on Android TV/Google TV. I think that FLauncher is the best free option currently available for Firestick.
