The first match of my Season 3 Versus Series will pit a member of Shinra's elite 1st class Soliders against a hybrid weapon of two worlds. Who will emerge the winner ?

32:50 The reason why the characters were "evenly" matched in Dissidia was because of Shinryu and the nature of the conflict. At the end of every conflict, he would absorb the experiences and powers gained by everyone, regardless if they were on the winning or losing side, and restart the cycle. No matter what powers they'd gain, they'd have to restart again from the first level. The only "prize" for being on the winning side was being able to regain some memories of your original world, but your powers were generally taken away again. Moreover, the heroes only ever won the cycle the player gets to experience because even in-universe, the heroes were that outclassed by the villains, and that was before they started utilizing third-party enemies like the Manikins. It isn't until they start getting their crystals in the 13th and final cycle when they start being able to stand against any given villain and actually win.

This is a very well put together video, nice work! I'm glad Genesis got some spotlight, he's probably my favourite Crisis Core character personally, so, I was quite glad to see him show up here, wouldn't mind seeing him show again in a future Versus episode, much like how we're getting a certain character making another appearance in the upcoming episode, which i'm looking forward to as well, it was really nice to see your views on Dissidia as well.

I glad I could give your favorite Crisis Core character some much need attention. I don't really hear many people talk about him but he is probably Zack Fair's greatest victory and Zack is super popular. I would love for Square-Enix to add a update remastered version of Crisis Core to come with the upcoming FF7 remake. Since its only on PSP not many people can even play it now.

I think a great fight would be Nero (dmc4) Vs Genesis. Reasons are because Vergil and Dante are as strong if not stronger than sepheroth while Nero is "almost" that strong but not. Genesis is almost as strong as sepheroth but still not quite

I truly have to say, Terra could win because of Genesis's arrogance early on. He tends to look down on others like Sephiroth unless he knew from the start how powerful his opponent is. For once Terra is in her Esper Form...Man oh man I knew she was stronger, but had no idea how much so exactly. Genesis and many others WOULD be screwed against her in that form.

You've probably been asked this question before but I'm new here. Kind of a tough match to call but who do you think would win between a fully powered Cloud with every non summon materia in VII (I consider materia slots just a game mechanic,) the fusion sword, and every limit break he has, vs a fully powered Dante with every weapon from across the original series? I feel like this fight would take an overwhelmingly large amount of research though and there's always a lot of debate on how far their physicals go, ex: many people consider cloud town level, some building level, some mountain level, some go as far as to consider him a freaking planet buster, etc.

In that case I would say without question its going to be either Advent Children Cloud or Sephiroth. In terms of speed I would lean more toward Sephiroth but when it comes to strength I would give it to Cloud.

You did a good job at filling in the blanks for Terra by using Dissidia, which leaves Genesis at a slight disadvantage. I agree that the villains are powered down in Dissidia, to some extent, but the heroes are powered up in exchange. There is no chance for Genesis in defeating Terra's Dissidia version of trance. Andrew Rogers IMO, Genesis would cut down Terra before she goes into her trance form. The problem here is how do you determine how powerful Terra's esper form is? All she ever did was burn a few houses and fly really fast. I think this was a good analysis in its context but when you need to power up or power down a character in a Vs battle, what's the point?

Andrew Rogers That's true but I don't use Dissidia for determining how strong the characters are from their games. Take Sephiroth, for example, in Dissidia he has light speed attacks and that means that everyone that fights Sephiroth toe to toe is in the same, slightly the same or higher level. Where do we go from there? The characters in Dissidia are pretty powerful, some have been depowered and some empowered, but powerful nonetheless. Thanks I've played all FFs from 1-10 and 12. Skipped 13 but I will play 15. Final Fantasy was the first game I learned to play as a small child.

malibutaa Well, as 3TR said, the game stays true to the protagonists and here's the thing, if you take a party of protagonists and compare them, they'd be nearly on par with eachother, meanwhile, if you have ONE protagonist solo the final boss(I'm aware you can do it BTW) then canonically, the protagonist would get absolutely wrecked. I'd also like to consider Dissidia to be a separate form of the characters, for example. AC Sephiroth>Safer>Bizarro>Pre lifestream>Dissidia However in this case Dissidia Terra>Genesis>FF6 Terra.

I still think Genesis would've won against Terra. Genesis overall cockiness was only shown against Sephiroth because he has a rivalry with Sephiroth, and as deemed the inferior Jenova project, Genesis wanted to prove himself to be a better combatant at least in terms of power compared to Sephiroth. In both of Genesis' engagements against Zack (first at Modeoheim and second at Banora), I don't think he ever showed that cocky attitude towards Zack. It's fair to state that he would treat Terra differently than how you portrayed the opening to their engagement. Secondly, I think Genesis weaponry and Terra's weaponry are pretty equal. Both can channel magic and while Terra's is primarily used for defense, Genesis' easily wins out in length and would easily be able to outfence her especially given that he is the much better swordsman. The only advantage Terra has in her corner is magic abilities and it isn't enough even for someone of her caliber. You mentioned that you'd have to take down Terra quickly to prevent her using her esper form, but if you look over Genesis performance, that's pretty much what his strategy is: Taking down the opponent quickly with overbearing offense. I don't mean to say that Terra doesn't have a chance to win, but I think 60% of the time, Genesis has the greater chance at victory.

I noticed the same thing and I have to say, I agree. If Genesis' s overall strategy is to overwhelm his oponents at the start in the first place, then a factor like arrogance, that has only been shown against Sephiroth himself, isn't even a viable weakness.

Its hard to say overall strongest. Lightning is pretty ridiculous. Terra is a serious Bad-ass though and in Esper form I would put her even above Lightning, BUT thats only for a limited time. In her base form she would definitely be up there but her typical strength does limit her. If she could keep her distance I dont see any of the other 'heroes' being able to take her out before she unleashes top-tier magic like Ultima, and Meltdown. Even Holy is a little OP. You get stuff like that dropped on you, you die.

Great video. No matter how much I tried I just couldn't get into Final Fantasy 6 and only made it half-way through. That being said, I knew Terra was good, but not that good. Since you have FF6 knowledge now, is there any chance that Sabin could go against some of the other brawlers in the series such as Zell , Amarant, & Tifa?

***** If Sabin is that strong then take him out. Now thinking about it, each brawler more less outclass each other. Sabin seems OP (high tier). Tifa is good but outclassed by Zell and Amarant in strength and toughness but she is faster. Amarant is more experienced than Zell but i give Zell the slight advantage is raw power but is outclassed by Sabin. Tifa is a very skilled martial artist but she is just fast. As seen in her battle with the guy on Advent Children, she can't take a beating that well. If you have to give someone many items or advantages that is not natural to them for him/her to keep up with their opponent, it is not a good fight. P.S: Snow does't exist!!!!

My biggest problem with your videos my man is how you analyze their battle tactics with Jedi styles. I would personally use HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) and any other historical martial arts to compare fighting styles but that’s more or less a nitpick
