I think Honda is seriously underrated in Ireland, I've worked with so many manufacturers over the last 17-18 years and driven all kinds, fixed and serviced all kinds. But of all makes I will say that Honda in My opinion has the best cars for the price You pay. Anyone that knows Me will say I am byist and they may be right. But I buy and drive cars I believe in and that are reliable, made to last, fun to drive and have superior quality. I admire the company and its heritage and for anybody interested or considering buying Honda, take a look at its founder and it's history and You will truly understand why they are the best . Interesting fact, Honda are the world's biggest producers of petrol engines in the world. They have so many applications. And as for the 1.6 diesel engine ,it is the best diesel I've come across in terms of reliability and fuel efficiency, and I'm not a diesel fan but if I was that's what I would buy. Great video Brian as usual.

Great to see you sweat the details of how a real world drive goes. The point about stopping, adjusting cameras and the like: these are the things that affect fuel economy and getting figures around the 5lt/100k is pretty remarkable. Thanks for taking the time to make this clip!

I have a new Honda CRV hybrid since August and I have driven 1700 km and I have a long-term consumption of 7.8 during normal driving I will not get under 8 liters as possible. City 7.5

Hi there ! Just curious what speed do you do on the highway ? You have to modify your driving style to suit the hybrid I find 🙂 was your last car diesel or petrol ??

@@doolanbrian hello i don't drive on the highway at all, it's city and out of town, the previous car was honda civic 1.8 petrol ufo, i drive with a light foot, so i don't know

@@pavlos11121 ok wow it should be easier on fuel .. most normal people average about 6.0 to 6.5 usually .. you can get lower like the video but you have to try very hard ..have you reset the trip since you got it ??

I have an 7yr old CR-V 2.1 Diesel EX Automatic and I am very interested in changing to the new Hybrid Version. My house is at an altitude of 854 metres and it is 25km to get down to near sea level. The Diesel does this trip on a very regular basis and turn in 8.3L/100Km. Do you have any idea how the Hybrid CR-V would cope with this? Going down it probably would be mostly on regenerative braking and charge the battery without any problem - do you have any idea how climbing 854m in 26km might give in L/Km?

That is a tough question Paul ! Ok think about it this way, if a 2.2DSL which is quite 'torquey' averages about 8l/100kms normally, i realistically feel that the hybrid attains about 6.5l/100kms normally, so my guess for your journey would be 7-7.5l/100kms, its a guess but i think thats where it would be !

I wonder what the battery life will be if its constantly charging, discharging every couple of mins. If you did that with your phone it would be lucky to last a year

As I understand it, Li batteries charge very many more times 20% to 80% than 0-100%. Works for mobiles too, check the internet.

M H , still , every few minutes it was? How many times for 100km drive... If battery is wasted in 2-5 years, all that economy is lost. Sure comfortable drive will remain :)

I did a test drive and got 7.4 l/100km , strange... Ny nax speed was 100, and average speed about 60... Temp outside was -3deg,

Did you for for a short drive ??? It takes 10-20kms before the average starts to look good :)

I have it since this week , and with a full tank I can barely travel more than 600km with and average of 7l/100km with long routes in the highway at a constant speed of 135km/h. In city I can achieve 5l/100km. I don't know if there is a way that I can improve my numbers out of the city......

@@larrypasos I think the average for most people will be 5- 6 l/100kms , i had to try very hard to get 4.8l/100kms !
