28:18 200 IQ play here is to turn on full control - cast the flare - opponent puts crypt on stack - crypt resolves - cycle twice (have to get lucky and cycle into another non-land which you did) and then flare resolves with 2 cycle cards in graveyard. GG you win.

at 27:14 i think the best play would have been zenith flare face, then cycle the fox after the tormod's crypt hability resolved and try to find another cycle spell. same at 28:17

Missed lethal at 27:14, BUT with high risk move. Cast Zenith Flare first, then after they sac the crypt but before the flare resolves, cycle the Fox and go from there. You drew another cycling card after that. Know it comes from hindsight, but it is an out

If anyone is looking for it, the land he mentioned around 5:40 or so is Wind-Scarred Crag. Windswept Heath is a fetchland, so yeah, you won't find it and it would be a rare wildcard.

I like to run the secret embercleave combo in here, as a back up win con with the 🦊. Also switch some of the blue/black for the lifelink cycle and the destroy artifact cycling card as well. As adventure decks are everywhere in the M21 format.

High iq plan, love the embercleave Idea lmaooo. I used to run raking claws in the deck when I first started playing it and it caught opponents off guard and won the game sometimes when they got hit with a double fox on turn 4 or 5

i don’t play cycling after the fires ban. before fires you could turn 5 win with repeated reverberation and zenith flare. i also played tamiyo to find the pieces and to recur zenith flares

agreed but I think it has potential to be redesigned into a deck that takes more thinking. Escape protocol for example is a 2 mana enchanment that lets you flicker a creature whenever you cycle, which is extremely powerful since you can play creatures with disgusting etb effects

I played a version with Reptilian Reflection, Raking Claws, Snare Tactician and Zenith which gives 2x Win Con (not sure if it's 2021 legal?). I love coming up against mill with a Zenith in the opening hand as they do most of the work for you!

I used to play against this deck every other game, usually my opponent wouldn't cycle anything until they played every single value card, including drannith healers. Obviously that's not a good line of play but I would still lose every time.

Is this viable up here in mythic? I have the same deck and have used it to climb the ladder, but in platinum it’s stalling out because a lot of scavenging ooze or crypt, I’m having trouble gaining traction. I’m very surprised this is a mythic tier deck
