Agree, I 100% the island with my friend, got all notes, did bosses, tamed everything. So we bought svart added some mods and having a blast. I wouldn’t have touched the game a bit until SE if mods weren’t a thing

@@bmx9354 absolutely, just to sum it up the one mod map I’m tracking the progress of is being made by 2 devs and only really has a quarter of the way to go before it’s done and they’ve been working on it for I think 2 to 3 months. Ark ascended has been out for almost half a year already and they haven’t even released another map. It’s laughable 😂

The Henodus might be great to build a trap on for taming underwater creatures like the Angler or Megalodon! You could use a similar build that you did and then swim along and "scoop" up a creature in the structure then throw some doors on the front quick. Alternatively you could put doors on the back and lure a creature in through the front then swim out the back and around to throw some doors on the front quick. Thanks for a great video!

Ambulacetus is actually a whale with legs. It's one of the earliest whale ancestors that evolved to rely more on water.

I feel you I'm obviously aware of the issues, but it doesn't feel worth just going in an endless circle of complaint. There's nothing to add to it and it doesn't contribute anything except perhaps some cheap/easy views, echoing what's already known. Perhaps at one point I will address it, but I'll be aiming for something more neutral rather than ASA=Bad. Plus at the end of the day, lots of us still enjoy the game!

I originally intended to make a mod roundup every few weeks, but ran into a few problems. The first is just that I'm terrible at follow through... the others are that mods obviously take time, and as I'm trying to go into a bit more detail it doesn't feel like a good idea to cover mods that are very much in their infancy, so I've been waiting for something to appear that I felt was worth highlighting. I'll try and do them more often, when there's something that takes my eye :) If you've any suggestions feel free to throw them on the discord

Something worth mentioning with Anomalocaris is that while it appears to be free scuba, it comes with the cost of faster food drain and constant durability drain on any equipped chestpieces. So you’ll either have to suck up repairing your gear more often or go with slightly less total armour with one on your shoulder ;)

@@freynlives oh yeah originally we wanted it to be HP drain, but apparently it’s hard coded in the game that there’s 0 passive health regeneration underwater for players. Would make it really annoying to deal with so we changed it to food instead (plus added a bit of passive health regeneration to the effect applied to the player)

There is supposed to be UI that shows you all the controls. R is to switch venoms, and X is the bite that applies the venoms

the anomalocaris clinging to your shoulders with its raptorial mouth parts is brilliant lol. Who knew the strange shrimp (it isnt a shrimp despite what its name means), could be so cute

It was mentioned in another comment from one of the mod team, but it's intended to essentially be vampirically latching onto you, draining your food (originally health but issues arose). So a bit less clinging and more digging in hehe. It is really adorable for such a bizarre looking thing though, cannot deny.

I would love to see more mod videos. The content for ASA lately has just not been very good. Most of the big creators sped through the island or gave up on it, meanwhile I just now have my boss tames😂

They've been able to for as long as I've been playing at least :) I want to say I remember carrying baby giga's to try and tame Troodons, but I'm not 100% sure on that...

The meraxes take up way to many carnivore spawns to be worth using, no rexes, carnos or allos just meraxes

I didn't find a crazy amount on mine, certainly still saw a lot of Rexs. For some an increased spawn rate is probably welcome as most creature mods tend to be added once they've already used all the base creatures, but I can certainly see it being a nuisance if you encounter an overspawn.

Most games with mod functionality are these days I think, anything that lasts longer than a few months tends to either have VERY frequent content updates, or a ton of mods. Fingers crossed that ARK manages to do both, but right now the modders are keeping it ticking over for sure. Gigantoraptor should be this evening sometime
