Your video is very thought provoking. Thank you for putting this together. I have been studying an "Eastern" awareness idea for about a year now. I have experienced a 'bliss' state twice. It was actually quite amazing and helpful to me. I am not a big meditation person and have no daily practice along those lines. The bliss state I experienced both times seemed quite by accident and took me by surprise. The best description I can give it is that it felt like I was directly connected to God or the spiritual creative force. I was free from all of my personal beliefs for a time. The idea of ego I get from my Eastern study seems to point at ego as a sort of false identity which I believe myself to be. I would say roughly that until I started trying to reach my "space of awareness" I believed I pretty much was the thoughts I think in a way. That the thoughts I think, when attached to, had became beliefs. My beliefs were largely the 'me' I understood myself to be. All of the beliefs and thought processes together become a false me, my ego me in the understanding I have gained from the Eastern way of looking, not the clinical ego definition. If my beliefs are based on faulty information, or poor quality thinking, well then the me I think I am based on those is not a very true me. I don't have a problem with thinking then. Thinking is not enemy. I have a problem (I suffer) when I attach my identity to untrue beliefs, or thinking I am actually my beliefs. I am the spacious awareness, the witness, connected with God. Something about arriving here leaves me free to love, love God, love myself, and love others, even if their belief attachments are at odds with what I understand. I am not at war with anyone in my awareness. I can easily be at war with all three of these living only in my beliefs. Something like that.

When I think of thinking. I don’t think they mean ‘not to think’ but more so compulsive thinking. I.e when you walk out and all these silly thoughts rush in. Whereas some people walk out and are able to be fully present, calm and fully open and aware.
