I’m 4months postoperative from having rotator cuff, bicep repair, and labrum. I’m in way more pain now than I was before or right after surgery and a lot weaker.

This is so timely for me. I’m 3 months post-rotator cuff & bicep surgery. Surgeon just told me I’ve “graduated” so no more physical therapy. But want to keep gaining strength & flexibility. Looking for guidance on how to keep improving.

I was kayaking & surfing and doing carpentry prior to my injury.

About a month after surgery. I lost my balance and used my arm after surgery to brace me not to fall. I have also slipped out of bed and used my surgery arm to pick me back up off the floor. After 4 months since having surgery to the arm. The other day, I was in my recliner and was getting up from a recline position. I had pain from the top of the shoulder at the rotor cuff all the way down to the elbow. Pain was in the bicep for like 3- 4 days and lost all the movement from 170*to 160*. The pain felt like I was poked in the arm with a ice pick all the way to the middle of the bicep.

I abhor how insurance can say what you do or don't need without any knowledge of your individual needs. I've been on leave from work for over a year with awful back and shoulder pain, had surgery, and insurance approved me for 6 weeks disability pay as that's the "typical recover time" for the tenodesis I got. Nvm my surgeon said at LEAST 4 months as my job is quite physical.

Great timing! I am 4mo biceps tenodesis and have the exact same shoulder pain I had pre-surgery + now additional pain in other areas. According to my PT I have great ROM and strength even compared to someone without injury. Feeling super discouraged since my surgeon said I will be good as new @ 3pm post. Any thoughts?

@@BB-fo5mr This is discouraging. Have you done anything to resolve the pain? I am 35 years old and active lifter and now I can barely do anything. Did you sue? Did you get additional surgery to resolve the pain?

@@BB-fo5mr what was your surgeons name? Scary how similar your situation was to mine. Was supposed to be just a scope and potential biceps tenodesis. Ended up doing the surgery for the $$. Three orthopedics since said nothing should have been done. I went to dr Verma @ rush in chicago. Guy has shown no remorse or fault for what he did. They know there is no recourse for their actions. With no accountability probably continue doing what they did to us to countless of other people who are blindly trusting them to be ethical & honest.

Yep, I completely agree. They charge a fortune, and then act like it was on you that their surgery made things 10x worse.. and didn’t do anything to help the original pain anyhow. Then all of their post surgical advice is cavalier and useless and time consuming, and even more financially draining. Then they just act like they don’t know you and don’t return calls. Its a disgrace. They go about their own life, like nothing ever happened. Its that easy for them. Kearns - King of Prussia, Pa

@@BB-fo5mr you should make sure to leave reviews for them online. Hopefully get other people to avoid him.

Can I get an update on your health/pain/ROM, etc please? I am 11 weeks post-op from bicep tenodesis and bursitis removal and am in pain constantly still. Right at the location of my bicipetal groove. I still cant even lift 2 pounds without feeling it in my bicep and shoulder for days. shoulder, arm, and hand get tingly and numb. My affected arm is now always cold.

When you team up with your physical therapist look at as going to school and job training. Pay attention, do your homework, learn the material, and show up every day. All the best God bless, your therapist is there to teach, train, and help in your recovery so that you can carry that with you the rest of your life. My best physical conditioning and understanding has come through tutelage. Don't waste this opportunity, were not dumb kids any more.

3 months in after rotator cuff surgery (subscap) and bicep tenodesis. 6/10 sessions of PT and feels pretty good. better everyday tho still wake up with some pain and occasional sharp ache right in deltoid or where they drilled anchor button. will be heading back to work soon. important thing is not to over do anything and still baby surgery arm for next 4 months.., main gripe is aesthetically the bicep still looks deformed. hoped for a better outcome.
