I think the hardest thing about being creative and coming up with new ideas, is that everywhere you look, someone else already thought of it before. Then you realize that all great artists have taken ideas from others works and incoperated their own way to it… painters, scientists, muscians… creativity is not only about originality, but also about who you are and how you present yourself, and add onto others ideas… you’re important enough to incorporate. It’s never good to copy, some people believe this is copying, the actual word would be sampling though, and honestly, your favorite painter, poet, musician, writer, ect… has definitely done it before. Ideas come from ideas. At least now they do.

I enjoy writing and I really think I have a great idea for a interesting article. I mean it would probably give me joy writing it because I believe it is interesting. I used to love writing. In English class if I was given the tools I could just write. Now? I cannot do it. I watch you tube tips and so on. The subject matter is locked in But I just then think? What's the point? What am I actually going to achieve? That's not the only idea I started. I started a short story, which then became just like me talking out loud, and then it was just based on me and I just got to the stage I said 'what is the point' I wrote a little title and intro...I posted it on my social media as if it was one of those memes of something profound. Anyone can have a great idea? You don't have to be creative or a genius? Just write a song, or have an IQ in the top 5%(Feynman'), Page is probably in the top 1%. A feel good talk, but no, not everyone can have a great idea, sorry!

I'm inclined to agree with you. His examples rest on assumptions that he hasn't checked, peoples networks/resources, iq, and also he hasn't factored in inertia which is the gap between having an idea and taking action on it (that alone stops most great ideas in their tracks) The redeeming thing is that people can generate ideas that are great for their own lives contexts, not necessarily the global stage
