This new plastic 4" tri clover pressure fermenter lid has two main benefits:
1. It will allow you to get a usable wifi/bluetooth signal out of your fermenter.
2. It gives you the ability to attach the 2" hop bong or other 2" TC accessories to your fermenter lid.
This is a great option if you are using the Kegmenters, BrewBuilt Fermenters, BrewTools fermenters, or many other different fermenter designs that have a 4" TC opening at the top.

Another great product from Kegland. Just a couple weeks too late for me! I wanted to try a hop bong with my kegmenter so I bought a 2 inch tee piece and 2 inch disconnect lid. The whole assembly looks pretty rad and a bit mad scientist. WiFi signals seem OK for the tilt sensor I'm using (after switching to a raspberry pi based extender sat right on top) but I may switch to this lid in future for reduced overall height or if I encounter any WiFi issues.

Yes if you have a repeater right next to the fermenter you might be ok.

Just out of interest what is your signal strength. How close is your router or Bluetooth bridge device to the fermenter?

that stainless lid looks like lots of machining welding and cleanup and mostly manual work with the cost of skilled workers,the plastic unit looks a quick injection followed by minor trimming maybe.

Yes it's not impossible to make from stainless but it's a lot of fabrication work to make a product with similar functionality.

You can, but much better to use a Pill instead - WiFI transmission is one of the main benefits

How about an oval shaped lid like a corney keg? Then it would be self-sealing and safer.

This has been spoken about before. The only problem is it's very poor with respect to vacuum so if pressure drops in the fermenter you will 100% suck in oxygen via the lid.
