@@EmilysCrimeCorner 411 was the phone extension for information used in North America. "Missing 411" is a term coined by David Paulides, he did all the research and collected all of the stories together in his 9 books on the subject. It is not a "colloquial classification" (whatever that is supposed to mean!!??). If you see 411 videos on KZbin, they are taken from David's resources. I've heard a few people recount them with changed/wrong information. These are stories of real missing people, channels like this treat them as spooky entertainment it seems.

Honestly if I was Jared’s parent I’d never be able to forgive the people who were supposed to be looking after him, and if I was one of them I’d never be able to forgive myself. I mean, I could definitely understand the bitter sentiment the parent would have, but it wasn't anyone's fault. The kid literally disappeared around a bend not far in front of them after like 2 seconds. How could anyone be held accountable for that?
@ItsAllAboutPerspective375
@ItsAllAboutPerspective375 3 жыл бұрын
I see both of your opinions. If it were me, IDK if I could forgive, simply out of it being the loss of my child. Especially if it were my own fault. Right or wrong, emotions are what they are. I'm also fully aware that horrific things can happen in an instant, that no one can do anything about. Meaning they're not at fault. But the real issue is never knowing what actually happened, or what part they really played in it. I doubt many people would be completely honest about their guilt if it caused a child harm, especially a death/going missing. However, all of these Missing 411 cases are very atypical and are a "the wrong place at the wrong time" kind of thing. I think some do involve opportunistic murderers, but I also believe that some of them are so unexplainable and are in such a direct opposition of science/logic that it's possible that these have paranormal aspects. They're just so illogical, and so many professionals of all kinds haven't been able to make any sense out if it, over all these years. Sometimes decades.

Right! Like y don't those people ever come out 2 say sorry or something! Anything! When i see the dad interviews my heart can't take his sadness. I just want 2 take his pain away. He should have not ever gone threw that. Now he still broken and a emptyness in his heart. I know a huge part of him died the day his son went missing. Its unfortunate cuz if only them people would have just hold on to his tiny hands. One adult on each hand.
@Haayz071

They should be held accountable. They told jared's father they would be going only a mile away to a fish hatchery. They got bored and went to a large trail to hike a while down the road without telling jared's father. You don't just take someone's child somewhere else than you told them you'd be. And also, he was running back and forth between groups. Nobody was truly paying attention to him. They were just assuming someone else was, and Jared and his family paid the ultimate price. Check out danelle hallan's vid on this case. A ton of detail.

Regarding the 1st story, he was probably in a fugue state. These can be initiated under extreme stress and following his last minutes, that does seem to add up. There have been more documented cases of people going into a fugue state and completely leaving their old life behind, starting a new one, and then suddenly exiting the state and not remembering anything while in the fugue. Steven probably refuses to talk about it because there’s not much else to say since he doesn’t have any memory of his fugue state.

Look up danny filippidis a firefighter out of New York in 2016 or 2018 he went missing disappeared during a ski trip. A week or so later he found himself cross country in California wearing the ski gear he disappeared in with no memory of how he got there. When he disappeared he only had what he was wearing on him his wallet with all his identification and money was left at the resort he disappeared from. Weird story.

One time I was working as a server. I was under a lot of stress and had been. I remember won't moment being there and the next I was at this table coming too without knowing how I got there, what I was talking about or why, with one of my managers talking to me trying to take me away. I had to sit down with the owner and manager, and they accused me of being on drugs and asked what I took. I told them over and over again, I've only taken Tylenol and ibuprofen. They refused to believe me, telling me I was slurring my words and everything. I was so confused. I didn't remember anything. Not going to any of the tables, like an entire part of my existence was wiped out of my memory. Absolutely blacked out, yet my body was still functioning and going around. I was threatened to be fired, and emotionally I explained again, I truly am not on anything. You can drug test me. I don't understand what happened. I'm saying this completely normal at thjs point as I was out of whatever state I was in. It broke my heart to be accused of things I wasn't doing, while I was completely in fear of what was happening to me. I've worked there for so long and was always trust worthy, so to have him completely disregard everything, and treat me as if he didn't know me while I was very obviously going into some weird stressed induced medical problem it just sucked. To this day I don't know what happened to me. But it will forever be engraved in my memory and truly scares me just thinking that could've lasted longer than it did. Had any where from 15-30 minutes erased from my brain forever. It's as though I was gone. So so creepy.

Most reasonable explanation by far seems to be that he consciously went off on his own on a trip around the nation and faked his own death, only to start feeling remorse and wanting to go back to his family a year later. So he made up a story about a 15-month long fugue state and pretended to not remember anything while in reality he was perfectly aware of everything that had happened. And he didn't want to be treated by psychiatrists because he feared they might figure out that he was making it all up after discovering he was exactly as healthy as the doctors already found him to be.

I live in Holland, Michigan and always go out to the lake and the surrounding wooded areas to explore. It really is a beautiful area, however; it can be very dangerous if you're not careful. People come from out of state and other parts of the state and thing they can walk around on the pier in rough weather, and end up in the water. In the winter months, if you get in the water, you'll probably drown. It seems like every year there are bodies that wash up in the spring. There are also some very steep sand dunes and you can fall if you're not careful. Another thing, if you're boating and see fog coming in or see a fog patch, avoid it completely. Sometimes the fog comes with no warning and you find yourself stuck in a thick cloud. It is very disorienting and you wont see anybody coming at you until its too late. There have been many cases of people ending up disoriented and stranded out in the big lake and many don't survive it, whether it be a lack of preparedness or, anything. Don't get me wrong, the big lakes are beautiful, but also deadly.

During the Jaryd Atadero case it's mentioned that the Jon Benet Ramsey case happening at a similar time likely contributed the media circus and I just wanted to point out that not only were they happening around the same time but also in the same state not very far away from each other so that probably made it even more insane. Also it's always so weird when one of these stories happens in your area and your listening along and then suddenly you're hearing names of towns and things you recognize. Always makes it way more eerie.

@@reyannawynters1800 That's what I never understood, why people think it could only happen in the forests. If something paranormal, whether a being or phenomenon, was mercilessly claiming people, why would it only apply to certain places? If it's real, it can operate anywhere. It'd be almost as easy to get people wherever they are. If we can do it, it would be simple and easy for something that completely outclasses our abilities. Strange/paranormal stories have been reported just about everywhere on this planet, at every time in history.

@@ItsAllAboutPerspective375 I don't think anyone thinks it can only happen in one place however you don't any of those things. You don't know what it is or how it operates so no we don't know that it could happen anywhere. That all depends on why or why/what is causing these disappearances. The cause could very well be unique to the circumstances or areas. Who knows? Moreover the key with missing 411 isn't simply paranormal. It may not be paranormal at all. The reason these cases are grouped together is bc of all the factors they have in common. They all fit this pattern. That is all explained in the books and wasn't really talked about here at all.

Case#1 reminds me of two other cases:a guy hiking with 5 or 6 others in upstate NY,went missing;two weeks later,he calls his wife from California,stating that he didn't know how he got there(while sporting new clothes,cell phone,and haircut);in another case,a wife tells her family that she's going to the store for milk,eggs,butter,etc.;when she returns from the store,it's 5 months later(yet in her mind,it's less than an hour later);she couldn't explain where she had been😳

There was a story once of three little children who ran up to a place higher than anyone thought they’d be able too because they were terrified about a bear that they believed they saw. In Jarryd’s case I’m wondering if something similar didn’t happen and then as he suffered more and more from exposure, if he didn’t suffer from paradoxical undressing, which is why his clothes weren’t damaged and looked like they’d been purposely taken off.

They did search. There was no evidence of animal attack or his body which was never found. They found one part of his skull years later and his clothes and shoes which didn't look as if they had been put in the elements for that amount of time. Many many details are not mentioned here. This is a seriously broad overview of these stories.

True story: I was omw home from dropping my cousin off to his house after chilling at mines (mostly to smoke weed) his mom didn’t like him smoking and that’s all he liked to do...my parents were a bit more lenient and tho I’m not a big smoker, this night I chose to indulg more then usual...it was about a 20 minute drive there and 20 minutes back which, I didn’t mind cus I always brought my headphones and pretty much just listened to music omw back... it was around 3 in the morning and it was pretty foggy outside. Everything was routine as usual and at this pt I was maybe 10 mins from my house when things took a turn... I was coming up to a 4 way stop on this back road in a rural part of the city. (I stay in texas so there’s a lot of fields and cow pastures) as I approached the stop sign I noticed a figure I couldn’t quite make out in the road on the left side of the intersection. I didn’t think much of it considering I’m high, it’s late and sometimes those cows get outside the gate and walk the roads...as I got closer I noticed it looked like a person which was weird since this 4 way is on a rural backroad w/ no houses for miles except an abandoned one on the left behind a barbed fence.. As I’m about to stop I see it’s a women,a bit heavy set standing on this ROCKY road w/ no shoes on watching me as I pulled up to the stop sign. My fear meter started rising as I just about came to a stop, then all of a sudden she starts charging toward my truck...I yell out NO! As I smash the gas pedal through the floor like a scene out of fast and furious frantically looking in my rear view mirror to see if I was being followed. Needless to say I made it away and when I got home I played that scene back in my head thinking (more clearly) that women probably needed help but non the less it was one of the scariest moments of my life and I’ll nvr forget...

Idk what he wanted but it probably wasn't anything good at 2am with 2 young girls. I alway make sure my doors are locked now.

Ok so my thoughts on the Jared Atadero case: If he had been mauled by a mountain lion, why weren’t his screams heard? Sadly, the loud, terrifying screams of a 3 year old must be loud. He couldn’t have wandered that far away from the group to where his screams weren’t heard. If the mountain lion went for the stomach, then Jared still had his mouth to express the pin through screams. But I don’t know much about the woods or mountain lion attacks. Or any animal attacks. If you’re reading this, correct me, can a mountain lion or predator animal bite the face of their victim, lessening their ability to scream or bite their neck first, greatly weakening a victims vocal range? It just seems like a person caused Jared’s disappearance, not a mountain lion. Although that theory shouldn’t be entirely thrown away.

Mountain lions typically go for the neck to break its preys neck and kill as quickly possible. They also don't always eat their kill on site, instead taking it back to a cache site or one of multiple dens which they then bury, to hide from other preditors/scavengers. It would actually be pretty expectable for a big cat to kill a 3 year old without much sound or evidence to find unless you found its cache. It could carry a child that young in its jaws which would explain why there wouldn't be drag marks

Fascinating crime stories. I just loved listening to these fascinating crime stories. This is better than reading John Grisham, Patricia Cornwell's novels or even watching CSI: Miami. It's interesting. Not being sadistic. But it's just fascinating. Yes. Morbid but interesting.

"Missing 411 cases are a colloquial classification"....Missing 411 is a term coined by David Paulides, as several comments have mentioned below. Dave puts a lot of work into his research and he is the expert on this data set. He should be credited for this work.

The missing 411 phenomenon that nobodies talking about brought to light by the dedication and passion of Dave Paulides …. The stories are to me life changing. I have been totally dedicated to Dave’s work as so many just gone. And probably many many more yet criteria for Dave’s work may cut out cases. But he doesn’t investigate a case that could easily be attributed to the missing s state of mind. You read these stories well. And the more that hear these stories the better for Dave’s community of open minded intrigued followers to the mystery that as of now, has no known answers

There are places on this earth that can’t be explained by any conventional scientific means, but one story that puts me on edge is in Alaska where a small village that once existed was terrorised by an unknown creature of uncanny strength and hunter of men and apex predators. If my memory serves me well this small abandoned village still stands to this day, but nobody has ventured back there since.

He deserves all the credit for the hard work he's put into the stories. He has lots a books, 9 I think. Please check him out. DAVE PAULIDES
