This is some quality content right there, wow! So glad you 're trying to get more people back on track. It would be nice to see a sequel discussing the HIIT, or how to get the most cardiovascular benefit for the least invested time (for us parents while working two jobs; the struggle is real😅😅). Finally I cannot unsee the Jesse Lee Soffer similarity here.

Great info. I'm one of thise people that never thought they could run. After 5 mins I always felt like I was going vommit, have a stroke then a heart attack and die. Now I'm interested in giving it another try. This also reminded me of how I got rid of shin splits. I only walked as fast as I could without the pain. After a month of this I was able to walk as fast and long as I wanted.

If I could, I would show this vid to my former soccer coaches. They made us all run the same distance within the same time, no matter what our individual level was. We hated it - obviously ;) Later I discovered that running is not that bad, but what I still don't like is running on concrete.... I find it much more enjoyable to run on dirt or grass - for example a forest trail. Also, it feels more comfortable for my joints. In any case: As always great video & keep it up! Thx!

Couldn’t agree more with everything you said. I actually love the idea of a “running newbie” shirt as well 😀. Sometimes, new runners don’t want to feel out of place on the trail, but something as simple as a t-shirt like that could help lower expectations and help the runner look for enjoyment in the process.

Thank you so much for this. While I didn't really dislike running, I wondered what I was doing wrong. I usually don't expect much from these kind of videos (reasons why) because I usually know why so I just get disappointed. Reason 1: Going too fast or hard on your first runs Reason 2: It's hard to guess the correct pace when you're starting out, if you go out too fast - you're done 3. Bad technique makes running harder, the first time you run you'll have the worst technique of your career 4. Poor mindset, and unrealistic goals

I've run off and on for decades and only manage to stick with it for a few months at a time. I got though the miles with sheer will and determination. But that runs out after two to four months of running a few times a week. I guess I kept thinking that one day I'd like it or at least it wouldn't suck. But I always hated it and it always sucked. I've come to accept that.

Hello, first of all I wanted to say that I really like your content, I think you are amongst the top fitness content creators on KZbin, and definitely in my top 3. I have been pondering over this for a while and I thought I'd ask if you have ever thought about making a video on this topic: it's about stretching and running and how strerching can improve running performence (better lunges etc.). Sound quite intereseting because I'd assume static stretching might not be as effective as something more dynamic since the main movement is a lunge. Since you have made a few very good stretching videos and now are getting intro running I think it would be an interesting topic Anyway thanks for the really good informative and educative content, I am looking forward to more videos.

Thanks for the support I appreciate it a lot! It is a good idea, thanks for bringing that out. Flexibility has both beneficial and detrimental effects on running performance. Running during extreme temperatures or during allergy season. I think if you are 2-3 months with good conditioning you should be able to adapt to extreme weather but if you are just starting out then don't get discouraged if it was really hot, cold or too much pollen in the air.

@joelouden6592 The heart damage is a result of lifelong endurance training. Running also increases cardiovascular health if done moderately, improves muscularity, makes your bones more dense, improves mood, sexual health, decreases the likelihood of heat attack. Running is basically a way to keep in great physical condition into your old age.

Once again a very good video. Now I only have one question left. In reason 2 I got the feeling that running in anaerobic range is counterproductive. Is this 'feeling' I got correct? Now I must add that I am not running to to get better at running but to have a better endurance in other sports (primarily martial arts). I guess I could see why it would be counterproductive for people running long distances. But for my reason it would be okay to good to be in the anaerobic range, right?

@YiannisChristoulas
@YiannisChristoulas Жыл бұрын
One major difference between the two is that in jogging many people step on their heels while when on a sprint they’re forced to run on their toes. In running, no matter the speed we want to run on our toes. Running on heels is in general triggers low back and knee pain in many people so it might be the case with you. At least it sounds like it. If I were you I would make an effort to run on toes while jogging and see how that goes
