I always find it interesting that carnists reference everyone but themselves to justify their own choices. A friend couldn’t get pregnant and then ate meat and got pregnant (my God, is that how she thinks pregnancy happens?) or other people’s culture or other people have nothing to eat. Or saying that eating animals is necessary for survival as they debate 4 obviously dead guys - because of course they are dead if they aren’t eating animals. I suppose it is difficult to say out loud that you are selfish and don’t care what happens to these animals as long as you can eat whatever you want.

I am not a fan of this debate format. I prefer when people use more of a Socratic method where the first principle is to establish definitions of terms so everyone understands what the other is saying, and there is no misunderstanding of what is meant when someone uses those terms. The ground rules of a productive debate should also be talked about and agreed upon before the cameras even get turned on, so there is no struggle to know who should be speaking and how to hand off to another person. With a one-microphone format it makes a dialogue less organic, and more formal, which makes ground rules even more important. I also am not a fan of dividing it up between Men and Women. It is better to have more diverse viewpoints. Finally, I would prefer a better camera angle that allows us to see the faces of each person debating. Whether this means more cameras, or someone controlling the camera, it is needed. The good thing is that with a one-microphone format it would be easy for a cameraman to fillow who is speaking.

In my defense of what actually happened, I missed the part/rule where i couldnt add a small part or question & just keep the converaation going. I wasnt prepared at that moment to actually give my "speech" as Ukrainian debater girl called it. So i had to come up with something on the spot. For some, I just was lucky and was at the right place at the right time, others I met through my activism or they contacted me after coming across my KZbin… I’m basically just following the ancient formula as stated by Carl Jung: "No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you."
