I just found a Toyota Sequioa 2001 S5 4X4, with 195,000 miles for $2400... BUT... not sure if I should get it bcuz the timing belt broke previously. He drove it like a bat out of Hell and he loved hitting the rev limiter for a stupid amount of time. Scotty I had a 1986 built very late in the year. You could say it was a 1986 1/2. I special ordered it. I did NOT want the hatchback GT. I ordered basically a cop car--the regular coupe with all the GT drivetrain 225HP 5.0 302 engine) and suspension, with highway gears and the 5 speed manual transmission. It got 18-20 mpg around town and 26-30 mpg on the highway. CONSISTANTLY. I am the type of guy who calculates the gas mileage WITH EVERY TANK in all the 78 cars I have ever owned. I do this mostly to determine when they need a tune-up or if something wrong is going on with the car (a habit obviously acquired long before cars had computers). I was shocked to hear how poor fuel economy OTHERS got with their mid 80s and 90s 302 Mustangs. And believe me, I did not baby this car. I drove it like it was meant to be driven. I would love a 1987 GT drivetrain in a 2005-2009 Mustang.

That is correct never use cross platform oxygen sensors, Bosh does make good oxygen sensors but for Ford and if used in Toyota they might not work ok. However I used denso's oxygen sensor by chance on my Ford explorer 2009 XLT and they are working ok so far.

My 87' Ford Ranger gets 25 mph on the highway., and 17 or so in the city. 357 thou on the first engine/now 74 on the 89' mustang engine I dropped in it 1 1/2 years ago. And last month I rebuilt the transmission (My father was a trans. mech.) Being a Vet. of 21 years in the Air Force (as a aircraft crew chief) I am familiar with tools. I figure it will out last me (I'm 67')!

Silverado from before 2008 are decent from what I've heard. Dunno about F-150.

I bought a crashed 2008 Bullitt Mustang last year and a 2007 V6 Mustang with a blown motor and clean body. Going to swap everything from the Bullit, down to the wiring, over to the V6 shell so the Bullitt will live on. I would be done already, but its really hot here in Phoenix in the summer and I have customer cars that always take priority.

That V-6 is a pretty good motor I think. I have one with a roots blower on it. But it has a cheesy timing gear chain tensioner that can fall apart at about 70,000 miles, (along with those trashed steering parts at about the same mileage), and do internal engine damage. Is that what happened to the one you picked up?

Watching Scotty talk hunched over all the time is making my back hurt. However, he scared me “straight” at 20:01. Cured my bad posture.
