The one that slices like an apple is what I have. We bought it like 7 years ago. Definitely required strength. I always had to have my husband cut it for me and it was such an effort. So now 7 years later I buy watermelon every week and cut it myself but thought today I would give it another shot. I looked up another KZbin video and the lady put it on a lower table and it cut straight through with little effort. So I put it down or I could use on my body strength and it just sliced through like nothing. Does make for a pretty display and very easy to clean. 👍🏼 Side note I would wash it as soon as you can, so it doesn't get sticky. My daughter cut her finger on this years ago washing it with a sponge.

I'm a bit behind with this comment, but, I just saw the "windmill" slicer yesterday in 2022. The person cutting with it had no problems doing so because they cut both ends off of the watermelon. And the center part leftover from the corer/slicer is the BEST part of the watermelon cause it's the sweetest !!!👍👍

Oh wow, I'd love that last one! I hate carving the obligatory 4th of July watermelon, lol. It's messy and takes forever and the large chunks make it fit in storage containers awkwardly. Also, my family has a horrible habit of being too polite with the watermelon. We eat only a little bit, trying to save some for everyone else, and then it goes to waste! Maybe with slices and an exact number per person, the watermelon will be fully eaten.

I actually have the 12-slice cutter and love it! I DO have to get up on a step stool to use my weight to push on it but I think the one I have is a better one then the one that you used in this demonstration because it has serrated edges and not smooth so it cuts easier. I also don't think that you get a "watermelon bath" when using it like the other ones either, LOL!
