Attach noisemakers to them, such as a bell that would permanently disorient the creature and effectively blind them due to their echolocation and reliance on hearing. The only problem would be getting it on them, but I would try firing a projectile into them with the attached bell. This could cause other creatures to attack the sounds, potentially weaponizing them against themselves.

Honestly, fucking with their hearing would be my first avenue of attack. Simple, really: The fact they perceive the world through sound and have incredibly acute hearing is known, you can see the newspaper clippings saying as much. With that in mind, wouldn't you want to attempt to cripple or hurt their primary sense? If you can permanently damage their hearing, or better yet, outright DEAFEN them? You win. How about rigging up a speaker to play sounds, when they get close, lower the volume, and then when they expose those nasty ear holes.... oh, I don't know.... have some strings wired up to the pins of flash grenades, and give it a good yank. See how their exposed ears like that one. Or maybe stick something fucking sharp in there, like a blowgun dart, spear, arrow, or sharp stick. Try Dog whistles, mic feedback, and even whale songs. The point is, you can probably find some way to get a direct sonic, pressure based, or physical attack into those ear holes, and once you do, that creature is in a WORLD of pain and may not ever really recover from the damage.

@@v0xell900 Yeah, but they are from outer space and our world is packed with really aggresive microorganism and virus, if you don't have enough inmmune defenses or your inmune system fails for any reason, you will die horribly in question of minutes, basically you will rotten alive, like corpses do, inmune systems of living things on earth are constantly put under a lot of pressure, this is why AIDS is so dangerous, this is also why a virus need to be really evolved and sophisticated to fool the inmune system enough time to replicate itself before it starts to beat the crap out of it, sometimes what kills you is not the virus itself, but the extremely aggresive reaction of your inmune system which can even make your organs fail, like can happen with COVID-19 for example.

Well, cold temperatures can make quiet sounds more hearable, which is why the family worries about the night because the sound goes further and are louder at night, thus if they lived near a lake the cold temperature will go a further distance, which is why the saying "Don't tell a secret at an end of a lake" because the person at the other side will hear it! therefore moving to the lake will basically be a death sentence in "The Silent Place" Universe.

Sorry to burst this thought, but (spoliers after read more) ...These monsters fell from asteroids that have exploded on landing, and in the second one... The second movie, the mom literally tried to explode one in flames also, didn't work. Armor too strong, BUT.. Here’s a way you could 100% survive the monsters from a quiet place. There is no evidence that the monsters can swim, so I am going to assume that they cannot. Three words. Air,craft, carrier, The massive Runway could easily be repurposed into a Farm The large hollow deck area could be perfect for raising cattle, The nuclear reactor can make sure you can stay at sea for pretty much your entire life. Or if you want something more permanent, perhaps for your children offshore Oil rigs can also be a really good idea for all the same reasons.
