Chad, you continue to amaze me. I realize that you have all of your dad's as you say worn out equipment. But you never give up on it and continue to turn out fabulous machined items. Keep it up Chad, I totally enjoy watching your project come together.

Love it. 100 percent average human building something with hardly anything except time and little money. Can't wait for the next many videos and see this old girl riding the roads again. Glad to see your knee seems to be doing better

I love the innovations you come up with this is car building that’s relatable. Not just chucking a blank cheque book at a project.

It would possibly be easier to take that cross member off, notch it 3 inches, then put a 1 inch spring pocket in the control arm since it'll be out anyway.

I'd fix that with a straight axle, dropped spindles and trailer springs, or just a set of airbags, but I love where you're going with it

You should grind that mushroom off the top of your chisel ..I was working on my 1978 Caddilac coup deville back in 1997 .Trying to replace the rear axle bearings .Tried to get the rear bearing race out with a slide hammer and it wasn't moving .Decided to use a chisel and crack the race ..Beat on that thing until till i turned purple .still couldnt get it ..Beat on it a bit more and that mushroom shot off and right into my knuckle . That chunk of metal stayed in my knuckle for 27 years .finally had it removed about a year agob😮

The rule of thumb I've always gone by is, the bigger the diameter THE DRILL BIT THE SLOWER THE SPEED YOU GO,, THE SMALLER THE HIGHER SPEED,, seems like I learned that in highschool general metals class? HAS TO DO WITH SPEED/HEAT. ALSO A GOOD GRADE OF CUTTING OIL/FLUID IS A MUST HAVE....

When removing a gound off bolt that you can't see the end of. Take some vinegar on a Q- tip and rub it in the steel. The vinegar will discolor it and you might be able to see the center better.

I wonder how much airbags would cost to go into that front end and lower it? That's what most people seem to be doing these days to lower their cars, it seems to work pretty good and it allows flexibility from day to day if you need a different red height.

I see guys chopping the top, then they drop the seat down to that scrub line and put a steering wheel in their rig that looks like a butter glazed donut you could eat yourself. Not my thing but to each their own... merica it is. Thinking about a flat tire on the freeway at seventy, tire is down, they are in five lanes and there is only two lanes available. Now how can a person justify something like that. I just know that when done, some brains are going to be rubbing the blacktop if they get a touch of your "MLS". I sure do miss my days of hotroding. Had me the sweetest 57 ford two door hardtop with all the fine things we did in the day, plus that car was only six years old and had only a few thousand miles on it as a old man sold it to me.

A one inch spacer between the control arm and the plate would have given you a two inch drop. Some heavy wall tubing or solid square stock laid flat with two holes drilled in it for spacers two per side would have been easier and stronger. Dropping the spring cup two inches was unnecessary and has created a ground clearance problem. With the four inch spacers in the rear the whole lowering effort is a dangerous mess. Good luck.
@ThisNThatGarage
@ThisNThatGarage 5 ай бұрын
Not sure how tubing or flat stock would be any different than what I used. Maybe you have never lowered vehicles before but blocks in the back is pretty common. Been running them on my s 10 for 15 + years but yeah they're a dangerous mess. 👍
