Great stuff, nice van and one of the best van tours I have seen. My first camper I built, a 1983 watercooled T3 in the same blue, in my view the best Transporter of all, certainly for it's time. Nice to drive and enough room. We put a high top on, then had a second child so had to sell. We now have 08 Vauxhall Vivaro bought 8 years ago, also a great van, but I miss the T3...but not the woman of those days..ha ha. We use a pressured pump up shower and a car mat, heated by boiling a kettle, mixed with cold. Thanks. The Jackery is better than a split charge system, IMO.

T25 folks, needs a front spoiler to help stop it from wondering badly in windy weather. Also, pay close attention to the anti corrosive water jacket antifreeze because this engine is wet liner and the cylinder head studs rot thru meaning a total and expensive strip down. This engine is notorious for this fault, but nice when nice.
@QB2ERS2 ай бұрын
@@ShaneandAneVanLifethat van is correctly designated as a T25. The T3 was a rear engined 1.6 aircooled engined saloon car, also available in fastback and twin carb too i think. I had one as a company car. There followed a T4 with the bigger porsche style aircooled engine as in the T2/T3 1.7 to 2L. They can all wonder badly in windy weather. I've done a lot of miles in them all including a 1.2L beetle. I bought a brand new T25 OE hi roof in 1983 for £13000 incl taxes.

@QB2ERS mine was totally trouble free in 5 years with no steering issues even in extreme winds which blew over a Suzuki motor home. The T3 LC was the best Transporter ever built.

How beautiful and practical Fergus is 😎 I really enjoy seeing the original setting and the later adaptations you've designed to make your vanlife easier (drawer's chains, the rope to hang the tablet...) 🤗 Keep going! xx

I would have used that triangular shelving unit at the back for hanging space instead of putting shelves in it. A Mombasa mosquito net with some heavier material to hang from a hook above the toilet would give you more privacy. Nice van.
@ShaneandAneVanLife3 ай бұрын
@leilal8053 it's surprising how much stuff you can store on the shelves. We keep all our towels on the bottom shelf and on the top ane keeps her brushes and perfumes etc. I like the idea of the net for privacy!! Hope you enjoyed the video ❤️🤗

In the 80"s there was a converter who sold a T25 camper with a sit down or sort of perch hor shower partly on the engine floor slope on the OSR.there wad just room for the portapotti on the floor, used facing inward clever stuff. Nice hi top too.

We were really waiting for this video! We loved it!! As you said it’s amazing how much storage you guys have! You wouldn’t say when you see the van, as everything is more « hidden » but that makes the van look much more spacious! You guys did a great job changing the kitchen and making it look muuch better. You really make us want to start vanlife straight away!!!! 🥰😘

You have so much room and storage space in the van. We have one with all the original westfalia interior and it doesn't seem to have as much storage as yours. Where did you get your memory foam mattress? I definitely need to get one asap. The rock and roll bed just doesn't cushion my hips enough. Great video, thanks!
@ShaneandAneVanLife2 жыл бұрын
Yeah we have plenty of storage. We would love to have the westfalia interior:) Honestly no idea where the memory foam mattress came from. It was in the house and just fitted perfectly for our van so now it stays in the van 😂 makes a big difference 🙈🤗

Well done, very nice job! I own a VW T2 with a high top roof that was used from Westafalia in the T3s Joker. I wanted to ask you about the Eco-Worthy 130W flexible panel if you are happy with it and any advises on how you install it on my high-top roof. The reviews in amazon are not 5+ but the price is ok. How much wattage do you get on a sunny day? I am between 3 panels: The Eco-Worthy that is on your setup , the Ecoflow 100W that has top reviews but is more expensive and another one 100W that has very good reviews in amazon and is same price like yours. Another advise, do you think i should also get the waterproof box to insert the cables or just open 2 holes on the roof for the mc4 cables and then seal them with silicone so there is no water coming in? Cause i am not sure if there is space enough for the box also to fit it in the roof. If you look on the T3 joker high top i plan to install a panel on the front space that is about 1.10x70cm
@ShaneandAneVanLife Жыл бұрын
Hey!! We love the T2's.. thats what we wanted intially :) I cant complain about the Eco Wrthy 130W.. it kept our batteries charged all the time.. I cant rememeber exactly the Wattage we got and I cant check now because we are in Ireland and its never sunny now haha Definetly get the little waterproof box with the glands to insert the wires. We attched our solar panel to our roof with stickaflex and also used gorilla tape all along the edges just so no wind or anything would lift up the solar panel.
