You mentioned... "the arch of the trailer..." However, I believe the word you are looking for is... "camber" which is defined as "a slight convexity, arching, or curvature (as of a beam, deck, or road)." You're welcome in advance! Love the channel.

I purchased the only brand new thing that I've ever owned last year: a flatbed trailer. I'd been pulling a 2000 model for 15 years. Didn't realize how much the integrity (tightness) that the top of the trailer has in how well it pulls. I bought a combo because it should get me to retirement without any corrosion problems and steel flexes better than aluminum. Aluminum cleans up better and has a higher resale value.

I have a Freightliner Classic XL, drivers who have ridden on such tracks know what kind of light there is, especially when it rains, the road is dark, nothing is visible, I put two pairs of Led headlight Hi-Lo beam, and connected them together, to illuminate the headlight, four lo-beam headlights and four hi- beam headlights,drivers who drive on the other side do not blink the light to me,so I do not blind them, I think.

That Primary Fuel Filter has a 1-14 thread. A WIX filter heater of a cummins fuel filter would screw right on there.. I had one one my old CATs engines. It is a 1-14 machined 1" thick adapter block and fitting that allows an electric 12-24vdc wafer heater to be installed to heat the fuel at the turn on of an dash mounted switch. WOuld kept the old CATs purring at 30 below zero instead of gelling up and stopping the engine. I retro fitted a lots of them also on road service calls with a alligator clips modification as dash outside work in the winter was too f__King cold. It was all I could do just to spin on the kit of the unit between the filter base and the spin-on fuel filter.

You should check out the "JW Speaker" 4x6 led headlights Dan. They're plug'n play and have an excellent warranty and are very well made! I have them in my 1996 W900L and are one of the best upgrades I've done. I had the regular low beam first and then I got the ones with the heater built in and they are awesome! I took the regular low beam and put them in the high beam spot because they are brighter than the stock high beam believe it or not! Just have to turn the plug upside down to change the polarity but they work fine and I didn't have to buy the high beam led. But the heated lights work beautifully when ice or snow are on them and they heat up and melts the stuff right off. You up in the snow waaay more than I am and they really would benefit you tremendously I promise! Also we're not getting any younger so the increased visibility doesn't hurt at all. When I first put them in I was super happy that I could see ditch to ditch with these puppies, but I keep getting the bird flipped at me and so I had to adjust the lights to keep from blinding folks....lol. But check'em out Dan and I promise you'll be glad you bought them! I think TRUX just came out with some but "JW Speaker" were the first I think and also they are DOT approved 👍. Safe travels Dan and I hope you picked up that trailer bumper, you could definitely use that for sump'em 😁

When you bought the apu I would have had the heater and ac hooked up to it rather than just using it for electricity that way you wouldn’t have to worry about placing the ceramic heater every year the truck are used correctly as a APU. That has a really good heater and ac I’m happy I have it.

Hi Dan, FYI, led's dont' produce heat so in the winter they will collect ice and snow, and you have to stop so often to clean them off. A trucking company in upstate NY was talking about them and they durring the winter, would change them out for reg. lights and the spring thru fall change back to the led's.
@DinanBMWm54 жыл бұрын
There’s no way regular light bulbs produce enough heat to melt snow off the headlamp. Especially while driving when wind would make it even colder on the headlight.
