Great work taking this on, i had mine done by a builder and i did the pulling and installing, did a squirter and balancer delete too, oil pressure runs from 80 to 100 psi which scared me but two years and still going fine

I think you’re supposed to use a thread locker with the studs. I think ARP has a specific thread locker. The bolts should have a specific stretch and you don’t want to increase the stress on the threads in the block. Basically all the block thread stress should happen because of the tightening of the caps to the block, therefore you only do hand tight (10-25 in-lbs) on the studs and full torque on the nuts. Edit: Only put lubricants on the threads if specified by ARP. Lubrication impacts the bolt stretch and can double the clamping force at the same torque spec on any bolt. Checking the ARP instructions it looks like they do specify to use the assembly lube on the threads.

Yes definitely used arp lube but the hand tight on studs does make sense

@@Pacheco760 That was kinda scary that the girdle didnt seat fully. I'd be worried that something got scored when it was tightened down.

This is your first time? How the hell did you have all of that measuring tool then? Is this one of your friends shop of something? Man, I wish my first time back then is facilitated like that. I barely have enough tool to do it. Heck, I even run around the store to buy a socket that I didn't have😂 basically I was rebuilding an engine and also completing my tool box😂. Anyway, cool build man.

@@fisshuman pretty similar scenario, bought all these tools just to build my 1st engine and actually building it in my room no shop 😂

@@Pacheco760 wait what? Damn.... Damn... Dude, how the hell did you get all of those money? Just building the engine itself cost a fortune but you actually buy the tool at the same time. I don't know who's rich son are you but I'm really jealous. ps: "rich son" is just a joke, didn't mean that.

end play you can still check even when the engine is assembled.

I will definitely look into that, thought I had to done before connecting the piston to the crank
