Not only are his movies pure eyecandy, the stories he tells are bittersweet and he manages to touch one's heart. Shinkai-san is truly a blessing and a gift from the heavens.

I think you can catch glimpses of it from time to time. A clear headspace and allowing myself to get caught in the sights and sounds of the present moment will sometimes allow me to see the kind of beauty that Shinkai highlights in his movies for a minute or two.

I think it's basically Shinkai's message, real life can be beautiful if you see it that way.
Anime`s focus on the environment rather than the characters alone really is what makes it special. And with directors like Shinkai who knows what tugs his heart and sticks to it its even better
@am_I_or_am_I_not2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s a japanese thing in general. There’s a similar focus on seasons and the environment in haikus
@PeebeesPet Жыл бұрын
@@am_I_or_am_I_not Yeah and what do you know/ All those terms that describe seasonal climate comes from Chinese. Haikus which come from Tanka are heavily influenced by ancient Chinese philosophy and poetry. Check out a book called Basho and the Dao. But it must just be a Japanese thing in general tho.
@ron4202 Жыл бұрын
Depends tho. Arent these movies? Because theres a lot of anime that just dont have great enviroments, like most isekais. I think this is just true for anime movies with a realistic approach, because anime in general very much care for character design appeal (merchandising) Though I do have to say Ive mostly seen anime movies do this, so theres that!

Yeah, i agree. While in the plot development your name certainly has an edge with the twist and time travel related puzzle, 5cm still has more feelings. It stays on days or weeks in your mind after watching it. Been well over a decade, of course the story is getting blur, but i certainly remember how i was so absorbed with the main characters back then.

Hayao Miyazaki Makoto senpai Thank you for making these beautiful animes. Thank you for making our life beautiful.
I am moved in tears. I am longing for something I don't know what. It could be a feeling that you want yourself immersed on this beauty of scenes, colors and reflections, drowning you in a sea emotions like melancholy, nostalgia and peace while still in the mundaneness of everyday life. That's the best I could describe it in words. After watching this video, I went outside to look at the gloomy afternoon skies, the clouds, the fading light, the swaying leaves of the trees and these picturesque scenes that you could find from the ordinary drama of life. I realized they were around me and all I need is an emotional soundtrack and a heartwarming story like a Shinkai film and I would find myself in a world not far from what we see here. But reality reminds me that I have no one to share that heartwarming story with, no one to share my tears and my joy and am left with only a fading prospect of a happier and better life for God knows what. Anyway, let us immerse on the beauty, these emotions and peace at the moment that this has given us. Arigato gozaimasu, Makoto Shinkai.

You don’t have to like Makoto Shinkai’s films (I personally love them), but you have to admit they are visually stunning. The way he uses lighting and other methods to make even the most mundane-looking things appear beautiful is amazing, and this video perfectly encapsulates that. Very well done! I also love that piano version of Grand Escape. It makes this video even greater. 🙂

Art is a great way to show peoples perceptions of the world around us to others. But if you look carefully around what surrounds you, you might chance upon a view like no other - you could experience these moments of beauty for yourself. Personally, I recommend paying attention to light or the sky - some of my most memorable experiences comes from looking at clouds and the sun shining through leaves.

Shinkai Makoto. The only name that I have found for 6 years. Everytime I feel lost, think about my future, I remember the name, every scene in his movies. For me, they are not only anime or cinematic, it is my spirit, my dream and who I want to become. I am living in a developing country, there is still no 2D movie, but it does not lack of talented artists and animators. They work and also dream of making a movie like that, and me either. Now I am 18yrs, it must be hard but I want to be one of the first animators who make a 2D movie about my hometown, that should be real proud.
