Don’t get me wrong, the vids of the slower trains are pretty enjoyable too in their own way. But a video like this, where the train is gliding as smoothly as a cloud while barreling along at something like 120+ kph, is just majestic.

Hi. I really like this one . . . Just want to let you know how great it is for those of us who will never be lucky enough or rich enough (I'm a pensioner) to travel to Switzerland, to be able to sit down in the comfort of one's living room, and ride with the driver of these trains. It means more than I can say. THANK YOU! Also, you may or may not be aware of this, but at 1.15.00, the "video" slows down as if it is going to stop and then picks up again. I haven't come across any other glitches in this one as yet and it certainly doesn't detract ... just sayin'. I'm really a fan of these "high speed" trains. I don't really like the super-fast ones at all. The speed that this train is moving at is great because you can still appreciate the scenery and you also get that "hit" or thrill from traveling so fast. Amazing that the trains stay on the track! I won't pretend to understand the physics behind it. I am amazed at how quiet it is inside the driver's cab. Is it really that quiet? Also, the ride seems so smooth also; like the train is just gliding along barely touching the rails. (1.21.0 and on for a bit is a great example of this. All your videos are good Lorirocks ... thanks again. Best, John from Oz
@lorirocks7773 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your nice comment! The slow down was to emphasise the moment a paper wasp hit the windscreen in front of the camera. The trains are usually nice and quiet to drive, although new ones can have those horrible high pitched electronics noises.

It's like coming home, watching your videos. You capture the spirit traveling by Swiss rail! I use(d) to go to Switserland during the summer holidays. With fond memories of stops in Lüzern & Bern, traveling to Engelberg or towards Brig and beyond. Traveling between Utrecht CS - Lüzern in the 80s & early 90s. And towards Brig (direct connection or with a stop in Basel SBB) in the years thereafter till a few years back. Groetjes uit Rotterdam, nl

Hello That's it, I was finally able to reach Luzern, a very beautiful line and an arrival in this big station. To have visited it during my trip on the Gothard, I found it magnificent and immense, like the traffic elsewhere. Too bad you didn't leave a few minutes on arrival at the platform to see the world get off your train towards this station. I was having a coffee upstairs and when we saw these two-level trains arriving, the number of travelers going down and up. The quick end changes of the old ICM Milan - Zurich in Re 4/4. In short, nice video. Friendship of a train driver from Clermont-Ferrand (France)

So was that a signal fault at 27:15, or was it to do with work being done on the track? It must have resulted in very nearly a couple of minutes delay!
@lorirocks7774 жыл бұрын
It could be a number of faults, usually the track is occupied in the system, which forces the signal to stay red. The controller goes through a checklist before activating the special signal. The driver checks the tracks and if nothing is there, the track section can be marked as unoccupied in the system.

@lorirocks7773 жыл бұрын
Nice to meet you. Basically the two sections of track are being fed by 2 different power sources that whose phases are not in sync, which would result in a short circuit if they were connected. The neutral section in the middle solves the problem. The main switch needs to be shut off while passing through. Would you be interested in making videos for this channel if I provide you with the gear?
