For anyone watching who is who isn't a professional mechanic and is attempting repairs that involve removing the valve body, I would recommend using a plastic scraper against any of the mating surfaces on the valve body or transmission case to remove gasket material. Using a plastic scraper will help you to avoid gouging any of the metal. That way you wont get any leaks when you put everything back together. Great video! Liked and subbed

I used an angle grinder with a rust remover adapter. It was going well until the adapter caught the edge of the gasket and bent it... I saw some other guy putting the separator plate into boiling water and then just scraping it off.

I was able to take your teaching and put in the time to comprehend what each lesson achieved. After around 2 months of procrastinating , I started the teardown and rebuilding.I used all the old parts as my kit. Amazing things started happening, and after 10 assemblies I was ready to order my new kit😢🎉

Bell housing bolts: 1) Heat with heat gun for easy removal... heat the aluminum boss. 2) If one still remains, a cold chisel with a few love taps will usually get the screw to turn. Drilling is excessive work, and easy outs are generally a waste of time. Heat is best... A plain heat gun on HI does it.

mega thumbs up. i have used a tap to thread a couple of the front pump holes so can stick a couple bolts in it to pull the pump. be sure to pull the one solenoid out of the front pump so dont break it. Why oh why dont they put a connector on the lock up solenoid? I guess so they can get mega dollah to change just the solenoid or the wiring harness. Typical of car manu's to get an extra buck.

So you think if I just wanted to fix my 3/4 on a high mileage trans with just a cheap transtec kit that comes with the piston and clutches and just check for leaks at the check ball and just rebuild the drum but leave the planetary gear and everything else behind it alone I’d be good?

(Face palm) That was a washer on the sun shell, not a bushing. And remove the extension housing (tail shaft) seal with a screwdriver and hammer BEFORE you remove the housing. It is more stable. And why not throw away the large "o" ring when you remove the rear housing? Oh yeah, you know how to build a transmission and don't have a rear piston removal tool? W H A T ??????

Two monks approached a river. There was a lady trying to cross the river. One monk picked her up and carried her to the other side. Later that evening, the other monk says "we are not allowed to touch women". The first monk looks at him and says "I put her down 3 hours ago, are you still carrying her?".

Never had bell housing bolt I couldn't get out. You know why? Because before trying to remove them I would take a big round punch and smack the heck out of the head of the bolt with a hammer.
