really what they need is the IR half of the unit in a side saddle (mawl style) form factor where the top rail attachment is the pressure pad. I can supply my own white light.

@@4MRRanch the problem is on a carbine, since most of us actually use, you know, non-MP7 sized guns, I'm going to want a real flashlight, like something at the upper end of scout factor performance. so if you're using one of these on that actual rifle, the built in white light IS the extra thing hanging off the gun.

I use the LE117 and a sure fire m640 vampire combo connected to a unity Axion dual switch on a .300 black out dedicated sub gun. The laser is pretty anemic like all holosun lasers so it’s fine since it’s a max 100 yard gun but really meant for use inside structures.

FYI, the LS420 is $100 cheaper than this model, but uses an 18650 to get 600 lumens out of its white light. There's also a titanium model (le420) for a little bit more, and both come with mounting plates to add a T-2 style red dot on top.

This unit is great. I have the model with no flashlight or ir. Green laser high is bright. LE reasons. If the peq has a green laser then it'll be better for the price. Sighted at 30 yards

I had one for a while, I loved the form factor and packaging but all in all it was too anemic for its IR ILL and the sector switch was too cumbersome to go from WL and IR . Ultimately I decided to sell it

Fair enough. The illuminator on this is a bit of a bummer, especially if you’ve been exposed to stronger units and know what you’re missing. I love the build quality and reliability of the unit thus far. Really hope the IRIS feels as solid as this one.

Random note: Great video! I ordered an Invisible sight IS-EG NGAL back in march, it still has not shipped. I sent the guy an email and he said it will ship by the end of the month, (over 16 weeks after I ordered). Have you experienced these long lead times from IS? Is it worth it or should I ask for a refund? Thanks man!
@4MRRanch5 ай бұрын
When ordering through IS directly it’s very common to have absurd lead times. The owner QCs everything personally. I think 6 months is realistic for the IS-EG. Worth the wait, but also understand the frustration. It’s the one thing stopping the IS-EG from being a no brainer

In terms of proven reliability, the holosun blows the newer and less proven GL4 out of the water. The crane compatibility is a huge perk for the holosun. But the different price points make it a tough call.

Holosun lasers are hard to beat for their price. When I go to a class or just go shoot with friends who have NV and IR accessories only their FP lasers are superior. All the civilian PEQ’s and everything else my LS321G holds up with just the same. I run a Surefire with IR & white light head just cause one thing lacking on the Holosun is the illuminator. I recommend getting the one that’s just got the vis and IR laser then get a flashlight with white and IR. Get two Modbutton Lite’s or whatever your preference switch is and you’re good to go.

I self potted/rewired a WADSN NGAL IR. It's held zero (.75moa shift tested at 100) for 1,200 so far on 10.2 suppressed (HX QD 556) trunk gun. Why should I pay more than $150 for something like Holosun over the DIY WADSN NGAL?
@4MRRanch5 ай бұрын
Typically name brands become name brands due to prolonged reliability and good quality control over time. So don’t discount what that’s worth. I’ve only played with a WADSN mawl. The laser alignment was bad, parts felt like they were lower end materials, and turrets were pretty poor. There are obviously exceptions to the rule, but you typically do get what you pay for.

Comments on holosun vs GL4 Pro?
@4MRRanch4 ай бұрын
It depends on your priorities. I would trust the holosun’s proven reliability. The GL4 is new and although seems to be well built doesn’t have a long track record, but you can buy 3 of these for the cost of one LE321G. The GL4 illuminator is much more powerful than the holosun, but I think the holosuns white light output is a bit better.
your methods are a bit "pi = 3, e = 3, pi = e", but we appreciate the great info nonetheless!
