Glad to see someone made a video reviewing these JBA headers! Bought mine recently, along with an 18” magnaflow muffler & aero exhaust 3.5” resonator. Stoked to get these installed!! The end result sounds great

Be ready incase you get a check engine light. Other than that, good luck on the exhaust setup!

I got the 4.7L V8. Threw some Doug thorley shorty headers on with high flow cats and Borla muffler. Next is cold air intake

Imagine if you had long tube headers. It would be rowdy!
@Ajtejeda31802 ай бұрын
@ maybe the next gen4 will have those. So far I’m happy with everything. Just having this issue with the AC, replaced the compressor, condenser, high and low lines but now I think it’s the evaporator which is inside the dash. Big job 😢

Owning a v6 is peaceful. Owning a V8 is something else.

Why? Just curious, not saying your wrong, but isnt the v8 reliable, i own a v6 and this gen has its share of own issues

We in the old hot rod gearhead crowd, call these shorties. Shorties are pretty much for show and no go. Oh yes, they do make it louder, but so do fart pipe mufflers.

Shorty headers have their purposes. As much as I want long tube headers, the cost in the long run would be very expensive

I need to do this on my 05 v6. I currently have the same codes. Driver side manifold I’m sure there’s a leak. Just wasn’t sure if I should get headers for it because I’m scared it’ll throw codes again lol how much was it for labor to install them? Great informative video.
@airsoftmechanic4 ай бұрын
@@Cardoza0727 it was $250. Some places will charge more than $500 for the labor

Start at 6:11 and it’ll basically answer your questions. Now for what I like and don’t like… What I like: They’re cheap but they work, not too loud, makes the exhaust sound nice, noticeable increase in torque, they help the engine breathe better, they’re lighter than the stock headers What I don’t like: The mating surface looks sloppy, the chance of having an exhaust leak where the headers meet the block, I couldn’t avoid the Check Engine Light, these headers require cutting and welding so I had to pay a bit on labor (I prefer bolting on myself)
@MrLopez-lm4jkАй бұрын
@airsoftmechanic I just did mine today bro... I kept stock headers deleted cats put oxygen extendtenders to fool computer. put two resonator and a magnaflow exhaust. It's okay a Lil clappy when I punch it but nice at high and low speeds no check lights for me .. I think it was the best route

Seems like i have transmission dipstick on the passenger side that is very close to manifold. I'm not sure if the headders will fit becuse of that.
@airsoftmechanic3 ай бұрын
@@danksauron3172 Sounds like you have a 2003-2005 4Runner. The headers should work. But you’ll either have to relocate the transmission dipstick, move it around and work it with the headers, or not have to do anything!

Are any of your exhaust hangers tensioned? Even with the same shorty headers. Both sides of my exhaust had to be pulled up from there OG resting positions about 2 inches vertical to even match up with the jba shorties. And now my exhaust is tensioned. One hanger next to muffler is squished up, the y pipe hanger on drive side is pulled apart. How’s yours?
@airsoftmechanic26 күн бұрын
The URD Y-pipe doesn’t come with exhaust hangers so it’s all tubing. For my car back exhaust, they’re still the same as before
