Bro.. the pipe's diameter and distance from the ports are precisely calculated in order to set your power band at a certain RPM-- When you cut it anywhere in front of the expansion chamber, you completely change it's tune. It' still might work well, but if it doesn't, that's why. That expansion chamber echo's the pulse back to those ports, and it does this at a certain speed (actaully at the speed of sound I believe)--- so if you change the distance between the expansion chamber and the ports, then it will change where your power band actually is... Typically the bigger the pipe and longer/ further away from the ports, the lower your power band will be, because it takes longer to echo back to the port--- so that makes it only work at lower RPM's--- (but also the more it will fall on it's face when you high rev)...... and that's because at higher RPM"s, the piston is going up and down in such a short time span, that expansion chamber has to be closer to the ports so that the echo can bounce back quicker, not that it's any faster --- it just has to go a shorter distance, which takes less time. I just have to stress again, the tuning of the engine and power band are directly related to that expansion chamber- it's diameter- and it's distance away from the ports... hopefully it still works well for you--- but if not, just know that it's because of that pipe and you'll have to change it again. There's a whole science to tuning a pipe for a 2 stroke.. There are not a lot of people who understand exactly how to build them right without the computer software to tell them how to do it.

You sound very knowledgeable and I agree with you.... being as knowledgeable as you are I figure that you can also hear that it is running very well. When he made his pie cuts he rotated the pieces but kept the pieces in the same order, had he rearranged the pie cuts the results most definitely would have suffered. At one point, many years ago I was thinking the results would change or be very poor, but after seeing dozens, if not hundreds of shifter carts take the original snaking motorcycle chambers and pie cut them and reweld them in to a straight line with little or no loss of performance I became aware that it in fact does not matter.
@calholli3 жыл бұрын
@@baby-sharkgto4902 Yeah, it does sound pretty good.. Again, as long as the changes are still a similar volume and length from the ports, it should still be pretty close.. It sounds like it's running fine to me. I actually think his clutch is slipping. If you watch it again. 11:46 -- after he shifts, you can hear the engine rev out quickly for a second--- as if that clutch is slipping.. Maybe that's him doing it on the controls-- maybe he doesn't realize that you only have to 'feather the clutch on take off.. Either he's doing it, or it's slipping.. or maybe the wheels are spinning-- but something is letting go... You hear that smooth rolling load on the engine, and then after he shifts--- it high revs way too fast. Clutches are easy to change though. I've had issues with banshee clutches before... It would seemingly work fine until it would hit that power band, and then it would break loose. I bought cheap new discs on ebay and never had an issue with it again.

F-Yeah they sound tough. My neighbor goes through fazes. So during his quad faze he naturally chose a banshee due to the performance possibilities. So as usual step one break it down to every last nut and bolt. Sends the motor out. $20,000 later this Crazy piece of Performance Art returns. I honestly thought that my buddy got Ripped off and it was just pretty. Oh how I was wrong. We couldn't start it right away because it ran race fuel not regular gasoline. My first words on the first start were, this sounds like a F1 car. That motor was so freaking pissed off I couldn't believe it. He actually only rode it a handful of times and sold it. We both agreed that it was a death trap and had too much power.

This kid is creative, skilled, has the right tools, has a great imagination and knows when something's structurally sound. Actually what's most impressive is his neighborhood. How he gets away with all this Street tuning blows my mind. I live in the city and I can have the police here in 2 minutes if I wanted. Also I'm the guy in the block that has the loud Sportster, loud scooter, loud Royal Enfield and I tippy toe out of the driveway out to the major roads before I get on it. Good for Vasily, also the neighbors Black dog seems to enjoy it.

Great job on moving your shifter.. You still need to shift faster.. Once it's pulling in that power band, just shift through the gears literally as fast as you can and watch it pull through every gear. Trust me, when these things are running right, their power is pretty terrifying..... It kinda sounds like your clutch is slipping... either that, or you are too low geared and it's reving out before you can even shift to the next gear-- I can't tell without riding it myself... It sounds like it's running pretty clean though, considering that you chopped up that tuned pipe.. Keep chewing on it. There are more gains to come. lol.. Once you get it dialed in, it will start popping up wheelies when you shift while running wide open.

11:48 ... See, it's reving smooth under load, and then right after you shift- it revs out/ high revs too quickly there --- like the clutch is slipping. The 6 speed transmission have really close gear ratios-- so you could actually be running out of gear that fast, which means you are too low geared and need to change sprockets slightly... or again, you can just shift faster. But honestly, it sounds very typical of a clutch slipping when the power band hits, or when you're rolling on the throttle... Make sure that your clutch cable has a little bit of slack in it/ a little wiggle room-- so that you know it's fully disengaged.. Some people like to tighten their cable down too tight so that there is no slack, and that can cause it to not fully close--- it acts as if you're constantly slightly holding the clutch in a little-- which causes it to slip.... Either way, it sure sounds like it's high reving quicker than it should there--- something is letting go. Maybe you're just spinning the back wheels on that pavement-- I can't really tell.
@jakobro17943 жыл бұрын

One other thing--- when you run it hard like that--- you should cruise around a bit and get plenty of air flow and let it cool down... or at least when you stop --- let it idle for 40 seconds or so. It keeps that water flowing in your head and gives it time to cool down. WHen you ran it hard and then suddenly STOPPED. All that heat is still chillin in your coolhead and that's why it started steaming that water............. again, what I do when running it hard is take another lap easy cruising-- still running fairly fast, but not pulling hard and making heat-- that way you still have lots of air flow through that thing.. and by the time you stop again, it will be much more cooled down.
