Thanks for the video. Here's my Take: If I had to do it over again, I would have paid for motor and trans mounts instead of making them myself. I would have bought a new T56 magnum instead of a used one. And I would have designed my exhaust to include a full exhaust out the back, not a front dump headache setup.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like we did everything backwards. I paid for motor mounts, and I did the extra steps to do the exhaust out the back. I still think I would buy motor mounts because it is really tough to get the engine to sit exactly where you want it to be. But I think everything else I would fabricate myself

I bought a standalone wiring harness for my 944 swap. The installation book was worth the price itself. But I hear ya on rework for your turbo setup. For me it was doing the oil cooler 3 times to get it right.

I am in syracuse and have owned a few e36 m3s back in the day. Your videos have really inspired me to do a swap. I want to pick your brain.

Very informative video. I have an e38 that I want to to put an Ls motor in and I’m still doing my research.

Nice! That’s a great platform for it. Yes, lots and lots of research!

@@LowBoostFilms thanks, I’m still trying to find info on the fuel system and what I need to use my cluster
@LowBoostFilms3 жыл бұрын
Depending on the power you want you can use a walbro 450 fuel pump, it drops into the tank with minimal modifications. I’d get some new fuel lines too. Your cluster will work for the most part. The temp guage is useless because it’s not designed for an LS, so you’ll want a real temp gauge, your gas gauge, and mph should work fine. Rpm may be a little off but. Very easy to wire that in.

Have you ran into issues with the car not wanting to start after it’s warmed up? Do you use a heat blanket on your starter? What grounds did you use for the motor?
@LowBoostFilms3 жыл бұрын
I wrapped my Downpipe with some heat wrap. The starter struggles a little but it starts

I have a automatic 88 iroc and a 2013 ls3 engine and tr6060 transmission out of a camaro. What would you go with to make it easy to install I have no clue what to do did some research but every kit I find is for auto trans and
@LowBoostFilms3 жыл бұрын
You’ll need a manual pedal box from a third generation Camaro as well as the master cylinder. Then the swap mounts and have a driveshaft made. Wire it and run all the hoses and lines and you’re good

Question... I've swapped my e60 with a 6.0l ls... the only bmw piece not working is my tach.... any solutions?
@LowBoostFilms3 жыл бұрын
Yea, look at the ecu pinout for both the e60 and the LS pcm for the tach signal wire, and connect the 2, however if the e60 was original a 6 cyl the rpm will be off, but they sell a module that fixes that
@JorMorera3 жыл бұрын
how many miles per gallon do you get from that swap? just curiosity
@LowBoostFilms3 жыл бұрын
Honestly if I baby it on the highway I probably get 25 mpg. Six gear is really long with this rear end and the RPMs are only like 1600 cruising on the highway. Around town probably like 15
