🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:10 🌱 Chia seeds are effective in lowering cholesterol due to their soluble fiber content. 03:41 🍞 Whole grain rye bread, rich in fiber and micronutrients, aids in reducing cholesterol levels. 04:48 ⚫️ Black beans, high in soluble fiber, are an excellent choice for a cholesterol-lowering breakfast. 05:29 🍐 Pears, packed with vitamin C and soluble fiber (pectin), contribute to cholesterol reduction. 05:53 🥣 Rolled oats, rich in beta-glucan, are a potent source of soluble fiber for lowering cholesterol levels. 08:10 🌾 Buckwheat (Bwheat) is a gluten-free grain with abundant soluble fiber, offering an alternative for cholesterol management. Thanks Doc.

This is interesting: In a study there are two different groups of Super Centenarians. One group flooded their body with healthy nutrition, while the second group ate just barely enough food to reach the minimum requirements. Mick Jagger is 81 years old. He eats very little and yet he's up on stage dancing and singing for hours.

@drjoetvMD

Dr. Please when you say lower cholesterol it becomes a bit confusing. The HDL & LDL will have to be kept at a level, I know when the HDL is low cholesterol is equally not good, can you elaborate on that please?
@drjoetvMD
@drjoetvMD 11 ай бұрын
I'll keep it simple for you. Focus on lowering your LDL and Triglycerides. Forget about HDL. We don't think it is as protective as we once thought it was. So instead of thinking of ways of raising your HDL, just focus on the two I mentioned earlier. Let HDL do whatever it likes, so long as your LDL and Triglycerides are low, you are safe

The black beans is canned. How safe is processed black beans?
@drjoetvMD
@drjoetvMD 11 ай бұрын
You don't have to use canned beans but canned beans are safe. The ones I share in my videos are minimally processed. All that's been done to the beans is boil them and seal them in a can. Nothing more. I use them a lot and do recommend them. But of course, you can boil dry beans yourself too

You decide what path is good for you. Some of us prefer to eat healthy carbs and down tools on fats. It works and it's safer for the heart and blood vessels. But if you think eating high fat foods and avoiding carbs is the way to go for you, go ahead and good luck with that
