I bought a used 2010 g37 sedan with 35,000 miles from CarMax a few years ago & these are the issues I’ve had with it. On my 3rd set of tires, break pads, new cross drilled/slotted rotors and flushed the break fluid at 100,00 cleaned the map sensors and throttle bodies because of check engine light but fixed. One tire pressure sensor because of check tire sensor & replaced one plastic coolant fitting in engine bay for heater coil leak. One driver side door lock cable replacement because it failed now the passenger side door needs replacement. Don’t get me wrong with over 200,000 miles it’s been a good dependable car that has been fun to drive.

I’ve had my 08 G37S coupe for over 10 years now. I got it when it had 50k miles and now It’s sitting at a little over 160k miles. The only issue I have encountered is the clutch slave cylinder going out at 60k miles which was luckily covered under warranty by the dealer. I thankfully haven’t had any of the other issues mentioned. One other common issue that wasn’t covered in this video is the heater hose connection that’s near the firewall (bulkhead). There are two hoses that clamp to a plastic connector that tends to crack and leak coolant. It’s happened to me twice but It’s a really easy fix. There’s an after market replacement you can get that’s aluminum though. A second common issue is the sunroof drains. I’ve only had to replace the ones that drain toward the firewall (bulkhead). The rear ones have luckily been fine. The original design of the drain wasn’t very good so, on heavy rainy days, you’ll end up having water puddle up under your floor mats. Infiniti revised the drain design and is another easy fix you can do yourself if you have the patience. There are plenty YT videos that cover these repairs.

Thanks for the tips. I have a 2014 Q60 convertible, and I ran into some of what you mentioned like the Bushing getting worn out, which cost me 2K from the dealer. Also, your Rear timing cover is leaking, but I have not lost oil pressure yet. Dealers are charging 5.5K. Something I am looking for a mechanic to fix it cheaper. I did want to say if you have an automatic transmission, I ran into that I had to replace my valve body and flush transmission code 65INZ95 DTC Po720. Cost me $4k, other mechanics were a little cheaper, but you have to remember that it needs to be reprogrammed, and I want the dealer to do it right. Even though it stalled, it took me home and drove. I drove it the next morning, I noticed you can drive it when the car is cold. So far, no problem after replacing it, and I have 114k miles. I drove it 85K when I bought it and it's been really reliable and fun to drive. I drive 200 miles a week get an average of 23 mpg and love hitting 120 speed.

@@yayasgarage its the left drivers side wheel and it clicks usually when you turn left or are going in the left direction and sometimes you can hear it click slightly on bumps, its not very loud or obnoxious but its definitely noticeable and especially when turning at low speeds (5-20mph)

I think my only major issue I had with my 2012 G37x sedan was starter went out at around 60k and rear differential bushing was leaking at 100k. Besides all the regular maintenance it’s held up fine. I use Ester oil so that maybe why mine don’t burn oil?

I own a 2013 g37x and I do drive it insanely hard and I try to change my oil every 5k miles bc of how I drive but it recently developed a ticking noise and I was assuming it’s “lifters tick” I used sea foam to try and clear it up but no difference was made, I am going to try and change my oil bc it’s getting close to 5k but it has me worried and I’m just wondering if anyone has a solution. It’s not noticeable on start ups and I can only hear it when it’s warmed up and when the hood is open but it still bothers me enough to say it’s a problem

Other issues, shiny / melting dashboards with or without cracks around $2300 to replace in warm humid clinates, passenger occupancy sensor failure which is built into a $5k seat. If you see the warning light on or if the dash is overly glossy or sticky, you have been warned.

I bought a 2008 G37 S automatic transmission for $7,500 clean tittle and no check engine light. The previous owner treated her right but the steering wheel feels a little bit stiff when turning. Also my power steering reservoir looks like it’s boiling the fluid making bubbles. I’m guessing the system has air inside.
@kashsres10642 жыл бұрын
I just bought a 12 G37 sedan AT clean title no check engine light. My steering feels a little stiff in higher speed too and fluid in the steering fluid reservoir stirs around that looks like it’s boiling but this mechanic told me it’s normal on G37. But if you literally see bubbles inside when you open the cap of the reservoir then there could be a leak. Mine doesn’t have bubbles even though it looks like it from outside.
