"Fun or funny" is a pretty difficult one! My Korean students struggle with that one a lot. :)

Just tell them "Fun" is for good things, while "funny" may not describe good things. I'm an Asian. I know what they think about. Hahahahah....

***** :) Thanks. I usually say that "fun" is for exciting things (The party was so fun.), and "funny" is for jokes (The man tells lots of funny jokes). In general, of course... :)

the reason foreigners may mess up on do and make is because in other european languages the verb for to make is the same as for to do

Hey James, You are right about the thing that speaking correctly or not makes other people judge you. I learnt english in Peru when I was 13 yo, I'm 31 now and I'm here in the US for 3 years now and there are people that think i was raised here but I still want keep learning colloquial phrases. Could you recommend me a book. Of course I;m watching your lessons!!!!!!

English was not my first language, but since I've lived in the US my whole life, I basically went to school learning only English. So I've always had all the English honors classes, and I get truly shocked when I hear people not know how to use English words correctly! And some people I meet in my Spanish natives class will be neither good in Spanish nor English. I'm luckily very fluent in both. But aside from that, I've strangely never heard anyone misuse the words you just taught :)

Yes that's true!!! these are common mistakes in spoken English and I can confirm this because I have had the same mistakes before. Good one "Other or Another'' and about "Make or Do" is so difficult when you try to spake English and it's not your native language to know how to use correctly both verbs. Thank you for let us know the right way using these pairs of words.
