@@TravWhiteStyle Hey Trav. Do you happen to know what causes a lot of men AND women to have slightly weaker hair on top of their heads than sides? Often the hair on the sides is even in women slightly thicker and shinier than on top. It is also visible in (dark) blonde or brown haired men (or women), where the sides are quite often slightly bit darker than the top (which very slightly gives it a coup de solei) . Also, right in the area of the crown and the hairline, the hairs are often thinner, lighter and dryer too. Have you spotted this same thing? I have this going on with my hair. Hair on top is finer in texture and does not retain any water and never looks wet. The hair on the side does retain water and look wet. The hair top looks kind of shit in quality without product (frizzly/dry). The texture of my hair is wavy (smaller curls on top - obviously since the hair is more fine too). I noticed that my hair started to look more like this after/around puberty and worsened from age 13-16 or so. When I was a kid (like age 3) I had very straight hair at all. I would be very interested to know which hormones cause this increase in curls and why this differecne between sides and top. It would be great if you could respond to this or make a video about the subejct

Imma save your time folks: 1) Wetting hair daily - when the hair is wet, it will swell, having the hair swell and return to regular size frequently will damage over time. Wash hair w shampoo twice per week. 2)Washing incorrectly - gently scrub scalp with shampoo - wring out your hair so it’s not as soaked - condition on hair shaft (not the roots) - let condition set for 5 mins, wash rest of body - rinse it out 3) Drying your hair incorrectly - air drying is more damaging according to how it’s swollen for long periods to dry - instead pat your hair down w a towel and blow dry on low heat with 6 inches away 4) UV damage - use olive oil as sunscreen for your hair 5) Using wrong shampoo - Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is bad for your hair. Read ingredients. 👍

The hair on my head started thinning big time after an extremely stressful period I went through. Consequently, I myself researched the net and decided to test a hair oil called litttleextra coocoonion & a comb made of neem wood. It really really made a difference. At present, I have lengthy, thick, black hair which has grown down to my waist and cut off three times since I started. Simple & effective. Also, equally effective is massaging the scalp - it stimulates hair growth. You just have to do this once a week. Pretty soon, you will see new hair growing in.

It is. Half the videos are poorly disguised ads for products and turn out to be centred around making a case for that product rather than giving generally useful advice. At least this guy saves promoting his app to the comments, and provides sources. (Whether he is misrepresenting those sources or is cherry picking them is another question but at least there's the opportunity to scrutinise.) Still, I wonder how he makes his money.

Hey tip for going sulfate free! You would want to avoid silicones (if you look up silicones found in hair products you could probably find long lists) because silicones require sulfates to properly remove them from hair and without using a sulfate to dissolve the silicone you could be left with buildup on your hair and scalp (which no one wants)

It’s surprising how many men with long hair have so little knowledge on how to take care of your it. I think it’s because as kids we stick to gender stereotypes so much that our parents either never let us grow our hair out or even if they do, they just neglect to tell us how to take care of it. Because only girls apparently need to know how to care for their hair.

Thank you for a lot of good pointers ! Except for one. A dermatologist told me that not replacing some of the oils on the scalp after shampooing can lead to over production from the oil glands in the skin....leading to oily hair. so, conditioning the scalp and hair at the same time seems to me as a win win.

Depends on the person actually, not everyone produces oil from the scalps in the same ratio. Which is why some people have rough hair and some have smooth hair without doing anything. Think of it like different kind of soils, some soil can be used to grow crops and some are just infertile. The advice from the dermatologist is correct but it is not a generic advice.

I don't have especially long hair, but this is incredibly useful info. A solid answer for how long I should leave conditioner in and proper drying technique is absolutely something I've been looking for. I try to limit shampooing to twice a week just because I've seen better results from doing so, but even with that and combing 2-3 times a day to distribute oils from the scalp, I find my hair isn't as healthy-looking as I'd like by the time my next wash day comes around. The one thing I don't do for sure is the drying techniques, so I'm going to give that a try and see how it goes!

You'll always lose a ton of hair, whether it's long or short and no matter how well you take care of it. The longer it gets the more noticeable it is, but hair falling out is normal. You only really have a problem if it's falling out more quickly than it regrows.

I'm no expert but I would suggest daily intake of Saw Palmetto (1x) and Vit D (1x.) Furthermore, be sure to massage your scalp outside of the shower daily. Just massage your scalp in a way that feels pleasurable. David Bowie once said when asked how he maintained such a good head of hair: "Just keep touching it." It will be hard to regrow hair you've already lost without some sort of medical treatment, but the things I've outlined, in conjunction with the points laid out in this video, should help you maintain what you still have.

I learned that I was doing all bad things said in this video. And what actually started of making me losing my hair was that I cleaned my hair every single day since the last 4 months when I started to change my routines. So when doing exercises I always had my hair greasy, so I washed my hair when I arrived home. Its crazy how a change of routine, leads to another change of routine. @@TCt83067695 I apologize for the late reply. I had decided to do other checks and forgot about to update on this comment. TLDR - It does work, results may be seen 3 weeks later. I decided to do 3 months first of doing what I always did and collected the hair I lost in a zip-lock bag to have a "controlled" test to see the differences from before and after. Once the 3 months came by, I started to follow this video's recommendations. The only thing I didn't change where the products I used like shampoo and conditioner to have a fair result. I didn't start to see results until 2 weeks passed. I saw that I was losing less hair than before. When 3 months passed (6 total since start), I compared with how much hair I lost before the changes and I saw a ~40% decrease in hair loss which is a lot. My curiosity increased and decided to add 3 months more but with a more expensive shampoo and conditioner for hair loss. 2 months in already(almost 3) and honestly, I saw no difference, the old one was Tio Nacho. New one is Monat. Guess i'll stay with my old products. A bit of story to understand what I found to be doing wrong. When I was in university 6 years ago, my hygiene wasn't nice. I used to take baths every 3 to 5 days. Yea I know, nasty. Well my hair was long and at that time was silky smooth with a lot of volume. After graduating I slowly changed my routine to take a bath 2 times everyday, after arriving from work and when waking up. Well, I washed my hair every single time. I didn't notice I was losing hair, and when I did, I thought it was due to aging. My wife started to lose hair and she thought she had alopecia. We both joked that she was starting to look like Vegeta. I started to search online and that is how I stumbled on this video. I showed her the video and she started to regain volume after a while. So the problem all this time, was that both of us washed too much our hairs. I still have the hair samples in a zip-lock bag, but I don't think I will upload a video about it.

May wanna mention that to your doctor next time you get a check up if your that concerned. Hair is complex and is more than just your hair routine. Your genetics, health and diet effect your hair probably more so than your routine.

what advice do you have for someone who has curly hair, but only when wet? I used to wet my hair everyday because it was part of my morning curling routine, but now that I'm hearing it's bad, I probably shouldn't do it. Is there a way to make my hair curly without water?

Good tips but I can't imagine not washing my hair after a workout. It would drive me crazy. But I will check out your workout video too.

Oh hey a little too for going sulphate free, you would also want to avoid silicones (commonly found in conditioner) because the majority of them need sulphates to dissolve. However if you’re simply going sulphate free and continue using silicones that is still a huge step in the right direction and your hair and scalp will be much much healthier

I always get compliments for my hair and sometimes girls ask me about it, and I shower everyday and use the cheapest shampoo I can find, sometimes even soap, and dry my hair as hard as I can with a towel. I believe I have alot more oily scalp than the average person which would explain how it remains healthy even when I misstreat it

Your scalp gets oily because it overproduces oil after you strip all of it out every day with that shampoo. Not a good sign😬

If it’s any consolation your hair routine makes little to no difference. Genetics are a huge factor in balding. The only ways to prevent it is medication or hair transplants.

It depends on the porosity of your hair and if it’s curly. I have low porosity, dense and thin curly hairs. So I only pat/compress dry and then air dry or my hair will look dead or a frizzy mess. The more porous your hair the more it expands when wet and therefore contracts when drying. The only people who should be air drying already have faster drying hair. Curly and straight aren’t the same. While my hair will look better sometimes a day or two after a wash, straight hair looks best right after a wash. Two different strategies. One is to gain control(straight hair) the other is to empower the hair to do its thing(curly hair).
