Yosemite always makes for an epic backpack trip with its stunning scenery. How wonderful to have at your base camp a swimming hole from the Tuolumne River where you could take polar plunges and refresh yourselves. I always love the Ponderosa Pines, monolithic rocks, and the waterfalls. Amazing that there weren't any bears, deer, or raptors on your trip, just that little chipmunk at the beginning. 🐿

I used to work up in Tuolumne Meadows back in the 1990s and loved it. I did that backpacking trip to Glen Aulin too. And that was my favorite place to camp of all the High Sierra Camps. Just doing the hike from Tuolumne Meadows to Glen Aulin was incredible. You hike next to Tuolumne river the whole way. Breath taking scenery And the water falls. It takes your breath away. Then when you get down to the canyon you get to see Water Wheel Falls. Were the water is flowing backwards.

What a fabulous, gorgeous backpacking trip! The views, the sounds of the flowing water, the blue sky (what a joy and "concept" to see a blue sky, a sky without tons of wildfire smoke!), and your narrative, and sharing Joey and your friends with us all was so enjoyable, and I also really liked your music sound track to it. It seemed just right for this scenery!

Yosemite....it will make you realize how small you are in such majestic surroundings. I have friends who go with a group to Tuolomne River in October. They glamp for a week. I can't think of a more perfect way to de-stress... I get overwhelmed by the beauty of Yosemite. I wish I could take it in and carry it with me in all it's vivid glory.

There's something special when one's in the company of water. Innocence comes to my mind. Cold and refreshing, the feeling offers us being satisfied and thrilled. Just being in our robustness is a longing to near our natural surroundings. Our souls cling to it and our spirit springs to it. Like an eagle ....soar high and wide.

Thank you for filming your epic adventure! My old knees would not allow me to see any of that. I can maybe hike 3 miles, before my knees would be too tired. So I really appreciate you going back to places in Yosemite and other places, that other full time RVers don’t go, they stay along popular trails and don’t get into the deep/high country of the N.P.s. That is why I love to watch your videos!

Thanks for this trip down memory lane. I made most of this hike many years ago. I parked in the lot near the stables and started my trek from there on a warm September day. The sun was out and the views were spectacular no matter which way you looked. I was glad to see cairns marking the trail along that large rocky flat area. I remember from there the trail ascends to a rocky outcropping overlooking the river and Glen Aulin in the distance. I decided to stop and have my lunch at the outcropping because my left knee told me not to continue. After lunch I was enjoying the views when suddenly I could faintly hear a jet engine that was getting louder and closer. It was a military T-38 trainer that came busting out of the canyon and I was frantically waving at the pilot. He in turn did a victory roll for me. The jet was close enough that I could see the pilot. How cool!! I returned to my truck and was hungry. Cat, I to was hungry for a cheeseburger so I stopped at the burger shack near the campground and feasted on a big scrumptous cheeseburger. Man, it was a good way to end the day!!

Yosemite seems to have quite a unique environment with lots of exposed granite, even to sleep on. How great that you were always near flowing cool water on your hot days. It was more water that I would expect this late in the season. No signs of smoke from wildfires at the time of your hike, fortunately. There are plenty of fires springing up these days. Thanks for another cinematic adventure of nature's beauty.

We just missed you! My son and I were down there on July 26. The water level dropped down quite a bit in just 3 weeks. That beach area around the rocks where you all were walking around White Cascade was all under water while we were there. I do have to say that I appreciated those smaller rocks steps as opposed to the much bigger, taller ones usually on trail that kill my knees. Just gotta make sure not to slip on the smaller ones. Glad you all had fun and survived the heat.
