I found a rectangle 18'x30' mirror at a local Goodwill thrift store. Made a frame from Padauk wood. Engraved the mirror with my laser the message: "This is how people will see you" Total cost was less than $30.00, Sold for $90.00

Another bonus for the dog bowl project would be to offer customization with the pet's name. That provides a nice add-on cost with very little added time to the construction.

Great idea Andy and I really appreciate the effort you make in helping with inspiration to us newbies in tje CNC world. We just ordered our first CNC with the idea of expanding our Trim business in offering custom cabinets for our already builder clients. When our machine is not working on milling cabinets, these are great ways and resources to help keep the machine running and generate revenue. We are excited to jump in the CNC woodworking world but we have to wait for our machine as they are backordered till January 2025. Thank you again for the resources you provide. 😀😀

Andy, I think you might want to reach out to me when you get a chance. First, no, you can't engrave glass with a fiber laser (though you CAN customize mirrors). However, you absolutely CAN engrave glass with a CO2 laser. I'll give you the run down on the how, and I'll give you the hack to do it on a diode as well. Would be VERY useful for your viewers. Also, just so you are aware, you absolutely can use your CNC to cut glass/mirrors with the right spindle bit. You just need a diamond tipped bit. It's a specialist bit most wood workers aren't aware exists, and it isn't a beginner friendly project...but it is absolutely doable.

I want to try all of these and see how I do I have a Etsy store and just got to my 21st sale I’m curious how these will sell in a small shop

Hey Nick, how did you get your first Etsy sale?

Not accounting for any customization, I believe the estimated sales price given for these items are extremely optimistic.the jewelry tray at $100 seems pretty absurd. This is only because I find the general public does not seem to care as much about quality as they do price point.

You also could drag knife the mirror itself

Great videos. I have engraved a lot of glass with an Epilog Co2 Laser, works fine.

you can etch glass with a CO2 laser. use etch\fill settings. It leaves a frosted look you can edge light. On the rotary, you can do glasses, wine bottles and more. If the texture is rough after, a little polish or tooth paste will smoothen. For a mirror, etch the back side. it removes the foil and leaves a frosted image. Then backlight LEDs. They make everything better. I have bought mirrors from Walmart. most are hot glued into a frame. you can use alcohol to separate the glue and glass. Then make a custom, deeper frame. If you vector/line cut glass, you are scoring it. you might then be able to cut along those lines. (snap it or boiling water and ice water can cause thermal shock and hopefully crack along the lines). Mileage will vary on this. Thanks for all the ideas

For "cheap" large mirror, look at sliding closet doors. it is typically thin and frail, so have a backer

you can use a drag knife for etching glass/mirror. best on the backside. don't forget to mirror your image

I laser etch glass and mirror all the time with my Epilog C02 50 watt Helix

Another option for the mirror... Buy a rabbet bit for hand held router, then you can rabbet out the space for the mirror. Also, you can create that opening rabbet on the back with the cnc, flip the wood over and do a larger (fancier) design around the mirror.

1st of all I love & appreciate this video & these types of videos. Very inspirational & is really clear & concise. 2nd of all I could see myself making the fence picket sign, the mirror & the dog feeder stand (in no specific order). I told my wife a couple of weeks ago that if I just had Andy Bird’s mind I’d be the next Elon Musk (true story). LoL 😂😉 Later ✌️

You can engrave glass with a CO2. However, with a fiber you can remove the mirror's backing and put either a light or painted back on it to show what you did with the backing.

Great video! I usually say “if it’s easy to make- everyone else will be making it.” It’s interesting to watch all of these “items that sell videos” then to see a table full of these items at a craft fair- unfortunately, the those tables are still usually full of the items at the end of the show…

Very true. There is SO much more that goes into selling something than making the product itself. Thats why I talk extensively about the other aspects. But on the other hand, people struggle to come up what to make and hopefully hearing me break these ideas down helps someone.

Andy, I like your channel buddy, BUT you seem to rush through your videos with no confidence mate, I take it you have been watching Mathew Peach, and you have stated to make and sell fast, Ok how many have you made and sold fast?, you do not instil me to make any of these projects as you have not made one of them, to show us what they look like or how quick it was to design and build, you are estimating costs, why not look at prices and list them in your description, I'm all for watching your video's BUT not really if you are not going to try a project yourself and show us how easy it is, Wayfair is the biggest dropshipping site in the world I think, so we would not have millions to push the items with pay-per-click, & advertising, keep up the work buddy but you're better than this.👍👍 P.S. What if people don't have a laser for the dog bowl personalisation, maybe they could engrave it with the CNC they already have!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I have made and sold over $500,000 in products that I made on my CNC. I know what works and what doesn't. Even better I know what makes something sell and what doesn't. One of the top problems I hear from people is they don't know what to make and sell. This video is to help that person, if that's not you. Thats okay. I explicitly said in the video that we are not making these products to compete with Wayfair. Thats not the goal. Maybe it would be a good idea for you to take some time and not rush through watching the video. I'm all for reading your comments, BUT not really if you're not going to watch the whole video.
